I can currently see 8 types of survey. If there is a shortage of surveys for you, then you can always ask if there are any more types available. Hopefully, within the next few months, more types will be available.
I think you will find preference is always given to those workers who are prepared to put in the requisite hours each week and are also prepared to forego the higher paying surveys when there is an urgent requirement to complete lower-paid surveys.
By balancing what surveys you do, the time of day you do each type of survey and being flexible with callback times it is quite easy to make £150+ each week.0 -
As indicated in my first post on this thread, there is a four day delay between completing a survey and being able to raise an invoice for that survey.
To be more accurate, it is actually a 96 hour delay! So, wait 96 hours after your last survey 4 days earlier and you can invoice ALL surveys made 4 days earlier. There is a good reason for this - it allows for work to be audited. In theory, I guess you could invoice every day (after the 4 day delay) but I personally invoice once a week, on Tuesday evenings.
That usually means I have cleared funds in my bank account by Monday for all surveys completed 10-14 days earlier (a whole week Mon-Fri). Optimum Contact is definitely one of the fastest-paying homeworking companies out there! And Payment is made direct to your bank account - there are no cheques to mess around with!
You can raise invoices on the Optimum Contact website, just by clicking a few buttons, they are really generated for you and you can also print them off for your own records.
When the payment reaches your bank account it is clearly marked OPTIMUM CONTACT so it is easy to distinguish from unearned income reaching the same account. However, I would always recommend opening a separate bank account; it can still be a personal account (rather than a business account) so there will be no fees to pay.0 -
Hi - If someone could give me a quick round up for the best way to do these calls if you are a virgin media customer. Unable to change contract at this moment in time. From what I gather you need to download skype and take out the unlimited monthly call option and download pamela ( £20 version ). Is this correct ?
What is the way to get round the limited 50 calls per day thing?
Thanks0 -

If you have a speakerphone and a pc microphone you could use the free version of PAMELA to record calls made using your landline (assuming you have an unlimited call package with Virgin)
There are some in-line recording devices you can buy for landlines, but I have no experience of them (except for www.truecall.co.uk)
I am not sure how you can get around the 50 calls/day limit without signing up twice for Skype. You may be lucky if Skype don't actually enforce the 50 calls/day limit. It could be worth a try to see if they do.
There are free software packages that will record Skype calls.0 -

Hi all,
I registered with Optinum roughly in November last year but have yet to start due to some personal family issues. I am still on the system and can still log in.
So my question is this, Im with BT at the min (new contract) so who is the best company to use for calls, is it skype?? also I have seen that on bulk surveys you have to record calls is that correct? May seem like a silly question, but how do I do this? I dont want to start and make loads of mistakes.
Also are there set min hours you need to work each week?
sorry for all the questions guys, but I just want to get things straight in my head before I start ploughing my way through!

I have looked at alternatives, but Skype does appear to be the best.jasperconran wrote: »I have seen that on bulk surveys you have to record calls is that correct?
ALL calls have to be recordedjasperconran wrote: »May seem like a silly question, but how do I do this? I dont want to start and make loads of mistakes.
If you are going to use Skype, you need a programme called Pamela (about £20) although there are free alternatives available.jasperconran wrote: »Also are there set min hours you need to work each week?
10-15 hours/week is the minimum. You may find your access is revoked as you have not done any calls yet.
I suggest you read this thread as it contains answers to all your questions.0 -
Hi paul,,
thanks for the responses. I logged in earlier no probs and surveys were listed. So I am hoping that means everything is A ok.
I have got Skype downloaded ready and will look at software so that calls can be recorded.
Looking to get started asap.

jasper...
Have a look at my earlier post on recording software, which includes free software. Pamela would still be the preferred choice, as it is possible to get some of the paid verisions for 'free' and it will produce more compact files than any of the free offerings I tested.
