Telephone Survey Work with Optimum Contact

First off I would like to say to Paul thank you for all the information you have shared on this thread about telephone work with OC.

I have spent the last 3 hours reading through this thread and have found it to be very informative as it has answered many questions that I have. I have been aware of OC for sometime now but only decided to apply yesterday......I received my acceptance email today and was well excited about it. As I was reading this thread I was doing my research on the cheapest way to make the calls. I even contacted my current provider and TalkTalk to see how much things would cost. Up till 20 minutes ago I truly believed that it was possible to actually make money from this work *even if it were £150 p/m* and I had finally decided to get a second landline with Talk Talk (£24.80 p/m) and use that just for my calls *as I could claim it back being that am already self employed*...BUT when I read ur last post it kind of left a 'deflated' sort of feeling in my tummy *without putting it badly or sounding horrible*..am really sorry to hear about how its gone for you...I hope things start looking up soon, take heart...as for OC I am not going into it blindly...times are hard and many people will be looking for various ways to make money, hence I believe work will be spread thin in most areas, especially work from home jobs...but having said that doesnt mean one should be paying out £25 and committing oneself to a 12 month contract without knowing if work will be forthcoming enough to cover that expense so what Ive decided to do is get the Skype Unlimited UK Landline Package *to be used for calling landlines* and use my current landline provider; PlusNet, to call the one off mobile numbers. Since am aiming to be doing this for 10 or so hours a week, as am also studying and doing other freelance work, I will have to make the 2 hours a day I call REALLY count.

I have been able to make this informed decision thanks to your willingness to share your story experience, for which I thank you.

Thanks Clio. I have amended my original post to reflect the current situation. Currently, there is little work available, let's hope the New Year brings more work.
