If you want the 3G/Wi-Fi version, it is generally £152, but Amazon currently have 'refurbished' Kindles for £116 - just read Martin's emails for the past few weeks!
Those cunning Chinese actually make some quite good Tablet PCs at around the £120 mark! The problem is finding a reputable manufacturer. Sine we last spoke I have just ordered a FlyTouch3 clone! Yes, the Chinese even clone their own PCs! But it is a good clone! You can see a video review here..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dxVSpCUoOdw&feature=related
Of course, I have not tested OC's website with an Android browser and its website is not very forgiving with browsers other than Internet Explorer - this is especially so with the surveys you don't yet have access to!
You should also consider that if you work for other companies from home using your PC, they are likely to have STRICT PC REQUIREMENTS and, in all probability, no tablet PC would meet those requirements.
I have tried accessing the OC website using the Kindle and it is next to useless, though it is just about OK to raise an invoice!
I can't believe I missed the Kindle info, even though it's on the 'Headlines' section of Martin's Money Tips emails! Thanks :T
Will gen up up the Kindles.
Never heard of the FlyTouch's! Anything like the iPod Touch? Will have a look. Thanks for the link for the vid.
I had an iPhone 3GS but stupidly sold it back in May. Really miss the thing, especially for picking up my GMail.
Can't afford an iPhone replacement yet, so am looking at getting the Orange San Francisco (Android) which has had great reviews, seems to have a very good screen / seems just the job for picking up my GMail / surfing the net.
Have never used Android but I like the look of it.
As for OC / going for other work from home, I've got both a PC and a Mac thankfully! Will be sticking with my Dell desktop and my iMac for work :j0 -

Yikes.
It looks like a great tablet, other than the resistive screen.0 -
I will actually switch to using the tablet PC full time for OC work. I have been monitoring my electricity usage and I reckon on saving 20p/day by using the Tablet PC! That means the Tablet PC will pay for itself within two years! At £120 and with those kind of electricity savings, the PC has finally become the proverbial fill-up-the-ashtray disposable device!
The Flytouch 3 can be used with external USB keyboards (it has 2 USB ports). So, you can have an external hard disk connected at the same time. You can also connect an external monitor (provided it has an HDMI connector). Finally, it has an ethernet port (very unusual on a Tablet PC) so you don't have to rely on sometimes-dodgy wireless connnections.0 -

I am not too bothered about the resistive screen. If you see the video it seems pretty responsive. You can go for the Flytouch 4 as there is a capactive screen version of that, but it is somewhat more expensive. For OC work I really will be using the keyboard anyway.
If you go for the 8GB version of the Flytouch3 you can, in effect, get a keyboard and leather case for 10$. That is about £6.
Total cost for Flytouch3 + leather case & keyboard: $184.99. That is £113 at todays exchange rate.0 -
Sounds like a bargain!
Where are you getting it from, at that price?

For anyone interested in working for Optimum Contact and do not currently have a TalkTalk telephone line, now may just be the time to switch to Talktalk...
Until 27 September, Talk
Talk have a special deal on their Essentials package. Sign up before that date and you will get and you get free connection (usually £29.99p) and you also get their Essentials package at half price for 9 months on a 12 month contract. Additionally, if you sign-up via Quidco, you will get a £60 Tesco voucher, valid for five years.
The savings amount to £119.24p made up of...
£29.99 (connection fee)
£29.25 (Essentials package half price for 9 months)
£60.00 (Tesco voucher - only if you sign up via Quidco)
TalkTalk also offer reduced line rental, if you pay up-front for one year in advance. You can do this after you taking up a one-year contract by logging into your Talktalk account. However, it should be born in mind that you will no longer get the Essentials package at half price, but the savings on line rental (equivalent to £4.30p/month) amount to more each month than the savings with the half price Essentials package. (£3.25p/month).
You should also remember to add the anytime calls boost to your Essentials package at a cost of £4.50p/month.
Overall, the cost of Talktalk will now be £20.50p/month, assuming you pay line rental one year in advance...
£9.50 (Line rental)
£6.50 (Essentials Package with free broadband)
£4.50 (Anytime calls Boost - including free calls to the 0845 number you need to call to record phone calls for optimum Contact)
If you are currently a BT customer you may well be able to reject BT's December price rise and switch to TalkTalk without penalty, even if you are still in contract with BT.
TalkTalk is the only phone provider that will provide an unlimited number of free calls to 0845 numbers.0 -
thanks for the info on talktalk Paul, worth considering as im with BT, awful they are!!!
I havent done any OC work for a while, gave up way too easily . Luckily I can still log on and have got access to surveys, so I am gonna give it another go starting Monday!!!!
I was just wondering though, I only want to work part time as I am trying to build up another business, I know its hard to say, but really can anyone actually earn good money with this work?? Im not after much really, say £50 a week minimum.

You will also need to get the anytime boost (£4.50p/month) for free daytime calls to the OC 0845 recording number.
This equates to: £11.84p/month for line rental, all your calls and 40GB internet allowance0
