    Just found their promotion -

    http://sales.talktalk.co.uk/product/broadband/?portalId=GOO_BRA&WT.mc_id=GOO_BRA

Looks like the 'Plus / Unlimited' package is what I'll need for the anytime calls for Optimum Contact?

Probably better to get the Essentials package and the unlimited calls boost.

    Congrats! :T

Can you tell me more re TalkTalk?

I'm looking at their site now, and am a bit miffed that they'll be costing me an extra £5 a month :o

Have you been able to call 'indirect access numbers' free of charge too then?

Any extra info re TT would be great.

    Cheers - Sim.

Thanks for that Paul. I didn't know about their 'boost' packages.

I was looking at the Unlimited package at £7.25 for broadband and phone (for the first 6 months) + £12.60 Line Rental = £19.85.

After 6 months though, it goes up to £14.50 for broadband and phone + £12.60 Line Rental = £27.10. Yikes. Far too pricey.

    The Essentials package -

    Broadband and Phone is £3.25 (for 12 months) + £12.60 Line Rental = £15.85 + Unlimited Anytime Calls at £4.50 per month = £20.35.

Plusnet on the other hand, are only charging me £15.24 for bb / line / all calls!

I'm only changing providers, so I can get stuck in with the OC surveys though.

Have read some horror stories about Talk Talk online :o Paul, I take it they've been ok for you?

Yes, TalkTalk Customer Service is very very bad, unless you get through to one of their call centres in Manila, Philippines. You can search on MSE about my run-ins with TalkTalk!

I did not think anyone was cheaper than TalkTalk; I am amazed at Plusnet's prices. But if you add SKYPE monthly unlimited calls on top of Plusnet, you are approaching the TalkTalk price. You won't have the hassle of sending recordings each day and you can carry on earning without fear of exceeding any daily call limit.

And with TalkTalk you truly get unlimited calls to 0845 numbers (except for 60 mins/call limit). You can also use www.precaller.co.uk to build credit and make overseas calls for free if you have TalkTalk!

Yes, TalkTalk do say they do not allow indirect access but I have been using the 0845 indirect access number to record calls for over two years now without any problems. Other OC assessors do the same.

TalkTalk have free connection at the moment - but only for a few more days. Make sure you won't incur any penalty leaving Plusnet.

Many Thanks for the info Paul.

    My mind's made up!

Am about to call Plusnet now, to get a MAC key.

Having checked Plusnet's T&C's, it looks like I shouldn't have to pay the 'cessation charge' so it should be straightforward (touch wood!)

Will then order the TalkTalk 'Essentials' package, and the Unlimited Calls 'Booster'.

    Cheers.

Do you have to get a MAC key? Call TalkTalk on 0800 049 7802 and ask them.

According to Plusnet, I don't need a MAC key at all for TalkTalk.

Plusnet guy told me that TalkTalk do a 'Line Rental / Calls' package without the Broadband.

If I go with TalkTalk for just the calls / line rental, Plusnet can keep providing me with the Broadband for £4.99.

I want to keep things simple though, as from the stories I've read online re TalkTalk, they seem to get it wrong when people complicate things!

Paul - Are you with TalkTalk for all three - Broadband / Line and Calls?
