When I say 'dire need of making some money', I mean that I have £2 until Friday.. At least I'm smiling :-/
So, chatline work really wouldn't bother me!
I'm assuming that the only work they'd have available for men, would be 'gay chat' though?!0 -
Hey Sim, it's actually with adultwork - I do work forr excel too but it's only paid at 10p per minute, so you have to be on the phones for hours on end, hoping to take calls constantly during that time to make any money. A lot of people on there do overnighters which is when you get the best money, but I don't think they hire men
You may be better off trying adultwork - there always seem to be men on the webcams (not sure about phones as haven't looked) but not sure whether it's gay guys, or women that watch these men...can't say it'd interest me to watch a guy fiddle about (lol sorry), put it that way :rotfl:
Anyway I'll shut up now before I get this thread deleted - oh btw with aw you can set your own rate - and most people charge a minimum of £1 per minute - which is great.0 -

This would be ideal to combine with your 'saucy' work or even to take over from it if you could get it to work for you. It would be interesting to hear what others say about the right times to make the calls. I hope you have better luck soon.
Yes, that's an impossible time frame for me to work unfortunately, as the children are home from nursery at that time.
However, some people must be having more luck than me as Paul Varjak stated he worked 30 hours per week - and if he were only doing 3 hours per day at 3-6pm, that only equates to 18 hours a week over 6 days (as the surveys state you can only work mon-sat).
It's baffling me about how some people seem to get so many surveys completed, but maybe they'll be back soon to reveal all0 -
Thanks vixxxen.
I thought Excel hired men too though? -

No? :-/0 -
Sim if you're really strapped i'd suggest mystery shopping, that's if you're not already doing it. It'll take about a month after you've done the work for the cash to come through and you probably wont make heaps but it can get you out of a bind. failing that saucy work for Excel may be an option if you're up for it (you could try texting too)0

Thanks calamity-j
I've never done mystery shopping before.
Read bits about it on MSE, but not looked into it in any depth.
Needs must though so I'll have a Google later tonight!
Any links / firms you'd recommend would be most appreciated.
Cheers,
Sim.
PS - Do you know 100% if Excel hire Men?
Thanks again.0 -

Pretty much all the info you need is in the first two posts of the Mystery Shopping thread, make sure you digest that info before you ask any questions or you'll never hear the end of it.
Easiest companies and crappiest money, Gapbusters and Retail Eyes
I'd recommend Esa, Gfk and Grassroots after you've joined up with those, but your best bet is to spend a few days joining up with all the companies on the list that way you'll have more options.
I just thought, that if you're really strapped you'll need to do jobs where you don't have to pay out first, Gfk would be one i'd go for.
You could also buckle down and see if you can get the phone surveys to work for you.
And i'm almost certain that Excel accept men but you could do texting elsewhere, sorry can't remember the name of companies, try the Saucy thread.0 -

Thanks very much for the info! :T
Will have a look at Gfk first then via Google.
Am determined to start bringing some dosh in, as losing my job in January (due to depression and alcoholism) has really got me down again this last week
Great to hear that Excel accept Men too. More money from the chat as opposed to the texting I assume?!
In order of priority, I'll -
Reactivate Skype first thing Friday morning.
Get cracking on the surveys (as many hours as they'll let me put in Mon - Sat!)
Get organised / signed up with the firms ready for the Mystery Shopping.
Apply to Excel.
Look for other jobs / volunteering to get me out of the flat!
Thanks again,

PS - So Gfk have jobs where you don't have to buy anything first then? :-/
PPS - Do you please have a link?
Cheers,

Just to say, I'm really not sure if excel hire men; I'm sure they must have a gay line but through my chats with other ops have never heard them mention men on the phone/cam lines. Texting is very slow most of the time and last I heard they werent hiring for texting or webcam; although this was last month so that may have changed now
They are very quick to sign you up and get you started, and you're paid for phones/cams via bank transfer every thursday, texts are paid monthly.
I also do mystery shopping and would recommend it, but thw only companies I find have work in my area every week are esa and gapbuster. Worth signing up to all the companies though, as chances of finding work are then obviously greater.
Oh when calamity-j mentioned finding work you dont need to pay out for first; I think this was in relation to the fact that a lot of mystery shopping jobs are reimbursement only, meaning you effectively get a free meal (or whatever) but aren't actually paid anything on top of that.0
