Paul I will try sending a email with recordings for one day tomorrow, if that doesn't work I will try one email per recording. When I spoke to them they said you could even email your recordings for the whole week at the end of your working week. They must have an unlimited MB allowance then if they can accept that.
Will let you know how I get on.0 -
I posted earlier on in the thread about not getting much success from these surveys - the ratio of calls-completed surveys wasn't very good...well I gave oc a break and restarted yesterday.
I spent an hour calling people from 2pm-3pm and out of those, I got one survey completed (which took 18 minutes to complete as the man was VERY dissatisfied with the company he was being surveyed for, and went into great detail about his problems!). I did also arrange a call back for 3.30 but he had switched his mobile off when I tried to ring him back.
The rest of the calls were approx: 60% unanswered, 20% were vehemently 'not interested' and quite abusive about it...and the final 20% said the person I was asking for wasn't in.
I am willing to spend 20 hours per week on this but at this rate is it worth it?
Paul - you said I think that you earn the equivalent of full-time wages doing this (or near enough) - can I ask is this suitable for part time hours in your opinion, am I likely to make decent money and actually get surveys completed if I work 20 hours or so a week, or do you really need to be on the phones for 8 hours a day to make any money from it?0 -
Your right Vixxxen, I started the surveys this morning and spent 2 hours doing it. Made 25 calls and out of that got one survey completed and earned the princely sun of £3.00. Mostly there was no answer or the person I needed to speak to was unavailable. Some said call back later. There were a few calls where the service had not yet been received and on the survey card there isn't an option for service not received yet so what do you choose?
At this rate it is not worth it, as you only get paid for completed surveys you coud end up only earning £3.00 per day. There other surveys sites that pay the same amount for doing online surveys and you don't have to speak to anyone or pay extra for phone calls. I am very disheartened and will be looking elsewhere, I don't think I will be continueing with this.0 -
Hmm, in a way this feels more like work than completing surveys, I'm willing to stick with it if someone posts and says they make a decent amount of money from only working part time hours, as I really don't want to spend 6-8 hours per day listening to forever-ringing phones! lol
ETA: I haven't had anyone say the service hadn't been received yet, so can't help you with that - hopefully paul will be along in a bit and answer our questions0 -
It seems a few people are having problems getting surveys done today. I too, am having problems today.
Optimum Contact may get its data on a weekly basis or a monthly basis. When you are nearing the end of the data it becomes increasingly likely that you are calling people who are often not available simply because those people who are available for much of the time did the surveys earlier in the week/month.
In the first 3 days this week I have earned just over £60, so not one of the better weeks. New data for the surveys I do most of, will come in next week (February) - so the opportunity to earn next week should be there.0 -

Please send me a PM telling exactly which survey you are talking about and I will respond. Or, you can, of course, e-maill the assessor.silentotter wrote: »At this rate it is not worth it, as you only get paid for completed surveys you coud end up only earning £3.00 per day. Yes some sites do pay that much for one surveys but only offer 1 survey maybe every few days. With OC you can easily get 10+ surveys in an 8 hour day (on average). The most I have done in a day is 29.0 -

The amount you earn should be pro-rata or better since you can choose the best time of day to call if you are only part-time. But some people may want you to callback at a time noy suited to you. I earn around the minimum wage mark (dependent somewhat on the survey type)
There may be some seasonal surveys arriving again just after Easter which have a high hit rate, because you will be calling mostly retired people and you will be calling them about something which is a big part of their lives. In past years it has been a good earner.0 -
In an earlier post I said I was having problems getting people to complete surveys today. Well things have now turned around and I have done three surveys since that post: 4:43pm 4:59pm & 5:05pm.0
