I rang the court today and they have sent the papers out ,cant wait to get them signed an off and hopefully have this sorted by xmas.

Just one thing would it be wise to take the£450 out of my account before my loans dd takes most of it? so far I have managed to keep up with loan repayments but I figure if im goin br im just as well use the cash.

Woooow ... Monkeyy !! Dont pay them, What is the point. Even Professional IP's would say not to pay them. You draw all the money out.. Youll need it for after BKY !
  • I agree with mike i cancelled all dds and saved the money else where.

Do It Online!! It is so much easier! Particularly if you are apt to make mistakes!

  • Make sure you canx the DD's though, stops one lot of charges with the current account.

When I file for bankruptcy, will I have to inform electric, gas, water, council tax office etc? I have been told you no longer have DDs with the utilities but have pre-pay? Is this correct? Obviously I will have to set up the DDs again as they will be cancelled when I inform the bank
  • Hi scoot

i have not had to inform any utilities that im bankrupt all i did was opened a basic bank account and changed my dds to that account

I agree with GIS, As long as you are not in arrears with the utilities then you will be fine. If you owe Council tax, a line is drawn and a new accounting period till year end starts again.
