I'm also hanging on hoping that social services will start abiding by the law and at least give me an assessment. I can afford to service my debts or pay for a carer, not both and it's come to the point where I can't carry on without care any longer. I should know at the end of this week whether or not they'll help or if I'll have to put in a complaint. They'll run out of excuses eventually and have to help me, it's just a case of how long I can hold out now that it's winter.

Just a quick question, my DLA gets paid this week and it'll cover the br fees. Should I just go for it this month, or wait and pay for some care and take a few months to save up the fees? I'm not behind with most of my repayments but one is with my current account bank so I'd have to change banks twice, now and again when br so would I be able to open a basic accout with the coop now and keep it when br, or will they close the account and I'll have to try looking for another basic one?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

I would put the account and BR issue on the back burner.. If you need to pay for carer fees, then needs must ... sorry to be blunt, but you come 1st, F**k all else... I dont want to pry, please dont answer if you dont want, but have you got savings ? as the council should be paying for car if you dont have them, or do they thik that you dont need the extra care ?

You must think of your health and your needs before all else, dont pay any debts whilst you have all this going on, after all you have the mindset to be Bankrupt anyway. I havent paid any debts in over 12 months, Im stoill here, still have a car, job, house, food, beer !! Think of what your basic needs are 1st .. then start the rest.

    Savings?! I wish!

They were all set to pay for 10.5 hours a week care. Then I had to leave uni. As I now no longer have to go out then I don't need to get dressed or washed and as for food I can just order takeaway every night. That's their opinion anyway. They've also told me I have to take medication for my mental health problems because it will make my physical health better, which is nonsense medically. My specialist told me I don't need the meds especially as I'm allergic to them, but to jump through ss hoops I'll have to take them and extra pills to stop the allergic rash.

Basically, they keep coming up with stupid reasons not to help - they said my dad could come round to cook for me, he lives 70 miles away! That I should move back to where my parents live, but I had a dysfunctional childhood with violence involved and really would be worse off going back there.

So they should provide care, and whenever I speak to someone they say I need care, but then they speak to a manager and realise that it means spending money and come up with another excuse.

You should listen to YOURSELF, not the social workers, council etc etc etc... Only you know what you need and want. battle for yourself. We are always here and will be throughout.

Think of yourself 1st, I can see it coming accross that you wrry about all and sundry about what you should be getting and should get help with. But you need to listen to yourself and f**king figt the cause, go to the offices and fight till you get what you want.

I hope im helping. buut dont think I am....

You are helping! I'm just fighting on so many fronts at the moment, it's easy to get fed up.
