I got declined by the Co-op too, and that was before I went bankrupt! I was really upset about that, but I'm now waiting to hear from Barclays, and if they refuse I'm off to Nationwide to see what they'll do. In the meantime - I'll be getting my money paid into hubby's a/c.
I have applied for 3 basic accounts - Co-op, Halifax and Nationwide in case I am rejected by one. Other reccomended was Nat West step account, but according to FSA they don't take undischarged bankruptsI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I managed to open a co-op cashminder account a couple of weeks before i was advised to file for bankruptcy so i dont know how this will now affect me .it is a joint account with my husband who is just starting a dmp so his salary and my childbenefit are being paid into it and the dd's for our priority bills are taken out of it too.Official DFW NERD 189

Hi GIS,
I would strongly reccomend that you change the account from a joint account, to just your husband's name as there is a possibility that the joint account may be considered as 'financially linking' you with your husband.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. Hi all
Does anyone know/understand reasons for co-op cashminder account being turned down. They accepted me . I was totally honest/open with them about being bankrupt, I'm not on the electoral roll and my address is not on the post office address finder !! Maybe they felt sorry for me......
I can't understand how I got one and a few of you are failing. I must be an A************ in people not to give financial products to

Have you already submitted your forms? The Court told me not to send or print out the forms until the day before, so that they were up-to-date.
If you can possibly do it, separate your bank details - fast - or open a cashminder account or similar asap.0 -
Hi sandra ,
filled my petition in online and printed it the same night so i dont think i can change them now ,to be honest since filling in the petition am having a nightmare as we have now worked out that im basiclly working for nothing as my wages are £500 pcm and my childcare costs are £400 pcm so am now in a bigger mess than i was beforeOfficial DFW NERD 189
