  • Hi All
welcome to the new members and good luck
I went br 11.10.06 and had first visit to OR last Wednesday. I have been really ill this last few days. The doc reckons it's all the built up stress coming out. Feeling a bit better today.
One thing I've noticed recently is that I open the mail when it arrives rather than leaving it on the side for later ! Must be subconsious
Spoke to co-op bank and my cashminder account/card is in the post! that was very straightforward. Elektron card for ebay !(selling not buying)

    Good luck to all

Been there, six long years ago and it was definitely the best thing I could've done

You've got the support of many people here.

Let us know how you get on!

Also Mike, there's nothing to worry about. I know its easy to say when it's not you going ahead with it. But I did. I was sent to Newcastle Courts only to be told that I should be at Sunderland Courts (I live in between both! Jarrow) then sent back to the Official Receiver's Office back in Newcastle!! I done all of this alone, absolutely no professional support or advice. I don't know how I done it then, I suppose I was at the lowest point of my financial life! But I did. If I remember correctly, I think I was more worried about the paperwork than the courts etc because I didn't really understand about the whole courts procedure and I wasn't worried about what the people in the courts thought about me cos they see it all day in, day out. Anyway enough of my droning, Good Luck and thanks for setting this all up - we're all behind you!!!

    Cheers

    Terri

    Thanks Dave,

Any tips for OR meeting? I was told, last week, to phone OR office and arrange a meeting at a local office. Phoned Thursday, straight after hearing and couldn't get through to office. Was told to go home and phone Friday - similar situation - kept going round their system and ending up at the switchboard again. Been trying again this morning.
Know what you mean about the post:rolleyes: I had some pleasure this morning in telling one DCA to stop phoning me and to wait until they hear from OR.
    Any advice welcome - cheers

  • Hi Rog2
The OR sent me a letter with an appointment date . This arrived 3 days after br. The letter asked me to confirm by phone. After lots of engaged/no answer I emailed them to confirm(the address was on their letter) 7 days before appointment. They never responded so I tried ringing again and lo and behold I got through. The lady said 'oh that's ok we got your email last week !'. No chance of acknowledgement then...
The OR meeting was fairly nonedescipt with them just going over my statements/expenditure. Nothing new emerged and I will have to go back for another meeting sometime soon
Even though it has not been sorted out finally, it is still a huge relief to know that it is now out of my hands

As I live in Central London it is probably not a fair reflection on what happens in 'the sticks'. I realise that you went to the high court, does that mean that you have to deal with Bloomsbury St or will it be more local to you
    Good luck

The clerk asked me if I lived in the London Area, and when I told him no, he gave me the piece of paper, with Bloomsbury Street office number and told me to contact them, to try and arrange a meeting somewhere nearer my home. I am a bit worried that I have not yet managed to get hold of anyone, but if I don't get through this afternoon, I think I will email them.
    Thanks.

  • Just thought I'd let you know...court went really well - everyone was very friendly and helpful. The judge was great too. Nobody asked me to justify my spending or debts - I can't believe I've done it. A huge relief.

Just waiting for the OR to get in touch now.:j
It's a big step, but so worth taking:j
