Congrats moonlitshadow, fresh start, new baby - it's going to be quite a new year for you to celebrate this time!
Hi Mike, how are you? Hope everything is going well for you and Moorcroft are backing off? I've been following your progress, and I'm always glad to read your updates.
Will you be hosting a soiree of any sort over the weekend??"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Im sick and tired(very very tired) of it all.
I love him so much but I really dont know why? only a feeling there is no logic to it what so ever. Im so fed up now. My life will never change and I am way to tired to fight it anymore.

It was all much simpler and less scary than I thought...went in, a cleark checked the forms (he was very nice, made a couple of jokes even!), and took the fee...we took our files to an usher who took them into the judge who stamped them...we didn't even have to see the judge!! Then back to the clerk who arranged for the OR to call us (we went in a private interview room), so we were left alone, waiting for the phone to ring...like Deal or No Deal, very odd!!! When the OR did call, it was just to confirm a couple of details and we'll hear in the post about our 'proper' OR interview, if required, soon. Creditors won't be informed for 6 - 8 weeks though...were told to send a copy of our Bankruptcy Order on Debtor's Petition (we got this from the court when it was all processed) to them if we wanted to let them know what was going on...guess I'll do that if any of contact me. Hmmm, Moorcroft have been sending me some nice letters - maybe I'll send them a copy first...
So, that was that...we're now 'bankrupts'...feels rather good in a strange wayEspecially as we just found out we'll be expecting our first child in August, good timing huh?!!!
If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask...I'm very happy to be able to offer the benefit of the experience.
A HUGE thanks to you all who put my mind to rest before we went ahead...you're life savers!
Toodle pip for now!

Hello!
I don’t know if I qualify for this place now… I am new around here! I declared myself bankrupt in December 2001 with debts of £11,000 when I was just 24 years old. I can still remember celebrating that Christmas being debt free and walking from the court like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders….
Whilst I was good for many years this year I have found myself falling back into the debt trap and have currently run up around £4000 (I am yet to count everything or work out it correct) but I am determined I will get myself out of debt this time before it gets worse!
Bank accounts have been a pain in the rear for years but I am in the process of obtaining a Certificate of Discharge from the Courts, I just sent my £60 off last week. I was discharged in December 2003 but need the certificate as a certain bank who I have a savings account with have said they will let me open a regular bank account if I provide a discharge certificate! :j0 -
Welcome
How have you found the last 5 years? I guess it's still on your credit record, but have you found it easier to get credit more recently?
I declared bankruptcy when I was 22, and was discharged last year. I also have a small amount of debt at the moment but am paying it off. Am trying to put some aside as well so I can pay it off earlier! My IPO finishes in July, so I'm looking forward to getting rid of that!matched betting: £879.63

@moonlitshadow congrats on the baby news, savour those first few years cos they are really something.
You'll spend two years teaching them to crawl, walk, eat and talk, and then spend the rest of your life trying to shut them up :rotfl:BSC Member 44 - not bankrupt yet, but getting there...0 -
:A Hi everyone.
first post tonite and was wondering if anyone can help please ?
My OH has been Br since April 05,due to be being robbed at his business premises 6 times during a 14 mth period. you could say weve had a pretty crap time....
the problem lies with me though. He hasnt really looked back since his BR. retrained through job centre and skills training board and about to get back out there.not sure though if he is discharged, which worries me.can he be made to pay money out of his earnings ?
anyway.back to me . i bailed his business out with numerous personal loans and ccs to keep him afloat.I currently have a dmp through cccs .i pay £146.00 pm and my debt is approx £70,000. i really want to get my debt paid but at this rate i will never be debt free.
I have considered BR myself because some of my creditors are now applying for charging orders on my home. I managed to borrow money from family to buy my OH interest in our home. Would he be able to do the same for me ? In the words of Citizen Smith - Power to the people !0 -
Hi mac,
the way i understand it your OH would be able to buy the benificial interest if hes a discharged bankrupt, you can find this out by contacting his OR same appiles for the earnings once you are a discharged bankrupt you are no longer under the restrictions anymore so therefore not subject to any orders.
im sure some of the more knowledgable guys will be along laterOfficial DFW NERD 189
