We're trying not to worry but it's the unknown which is scary isn't it. I can't think what sort of things they will ask. Is there anything I should be asking them?
Sorry, I thought there weren't any more questions!
I suggest you get yourself a list of anything you are even slightly unsure about and a big drink an a sticky bun :rotfl: as it may take some time. When we were called we had lods of q`s to ask but most of them were answered by the OR as we went through the call. Don`t know how long others` calls took but he did OH and then me and it took nearly three hours. Having said that we have not had any other queries to answer so he obviously got it all done first time.1/11/06 -1/06/07 BSC #42

Hi guys n gals
Just thought I write a quick note (as haven't posted for a while bet you re all glad about that LOL) to wish you all a very Happy xmas and better New year! xx
I haven't posted because Ive been suffering badly with panic attacks at the moment and as much as you ve all been so supportive and patient with me in the past, but I have to say sometimes posting on here has set them off (I know that sounds daft but prob cos when im on here its all in my mind) I still keep reading though so I am here in spirit.
Its 10 days to THE holiday so perhaps I will be better when I get back from that or not! the guilt for it still hasn't gone away and got a new worry about what it will look like to the judge if my OH has suntan!! Ive even consisdered buying some white face paint to tone it down! hopefully it will just fade quickly.
On the good news front Ive completed all his forms and got the fee saved! Haven't (touch wood had too many letters yet) mainly cos the kind bank extended the OD and credit cards when they added their charges???? don't ask!
so all I have left to do is try and brief him on the situation (which he doesn't want to talk about till we get back from holiday) so he knows what to say to judge and OR. I am soooooooo nervous about it all, have to say though he said he not (though he might be lying but..)

Me and my boyfriend bourght a house over a year ago. i put down 13k as a deposit and paid for everything. the money was from my mum and dad house when they died. in january 2006 we split due to him having an affair and domestic violence.
i lived in the house and paid what i could for all the bill. he didnt pay a penny. i even had to sell my car to help pay some of the arreas off the mortagage.
we had repossession orders for the house but luckly we had a buyer but i had to reduce the price of the house due the time scale of the order to the court for thw house to sell.
The Council has to re home me for my safety and my health due to what he has done to me.
the house was completed in Aug 06. but left a short fall on the secured loan. 8k still outstanding. the company agreed the house to proceed with the sale.
my ex boyfriend has has left me with all the bill to pay from the other house such as utiliy bill, and things that i have bourght him on my credit card and other things on credit about 3k which r in my name.
i only have a small income and work full time in an office. the wage i get every month i struggle to live on.
on the 30th November 3 months since the house was completed. the loan company has decided to get in touch with me and tell me that i had a missed payment in november?
when the house went through the solictior said it was all done and that was it.
the loan company r saying that a new payment was set in place for the oustanding. which i never heard about or agreed to or signed.??
new monthly installments to come out of the joint bank account which had been closed well over 8 months.
how can they do this.? dont i have to agree or aleast be notified about it?
in total im about 15K+ in debt due to my ex, and its all been left to me. im not really bothered about the ones in my name, cos thats something to learn from. but the most worrying one is the joint loan. i no that im liable. but it just dosent seem fair.
what should i do i cannot afford to pay all of it. is the only option to go bankcrupt?
if i go bankcrupt will i loose my bank account, and my car that is on hp that i need to get me to work. the car is very cheap 2k.
im so very worried, i have no one to turn to. all my family have past away and im totally on my own.
please can someone adviseBank Charges refunded from Halifax £2600Bank Charges refunded from halifax joint account £554Credit Card Charges refunded £300 plus interestI'm proud to be dealing with debt!!! :T0 -
Hi suzy - a very moving post - lots of questions, which will get answered, but for the moment, I would like to advise you to talk to someone like CCCS or PAYPLAN, before you make any final decision regarding ankruptcy and its implications. CCCS and PAYPLAN are registered charities and can give you FREE and IMPARTIAL advice.
It may well be that they advise ankruptcy as a solution to your problems, in which case you will find all the support and advice you need here - equally there may be other possibilities for you.
I agree with you about the 'joint debt' - Life IS NOT fair.
I doubt that you would lose your car.
You CAN fight the bank charges.

Hi Everyone,
BANK ACCOUNT - CO-OPERATIVE CASHMINDER ACCOUNT WITH DEBIT CARD
I expect it has been said before but this is a great account for bankrupts and very easy to open. The biggest difference/benefit over other accounts I've checked on is that it comes with a debit card. This means that you can feel like a "real person" ,when it comes to shopping, and not have to carry cash around all the time. You don't get a cheque book but you can sign up quickly and easily for Internet Banking and set up Direct debits, pay bills etc.
I set up my account over the telephone with a very friendly Liverpudlian woman. She took all my details there and then and the whole thing, including the debit card, was up and running in about 8 days. The initial acceptance was given me during the phone call. The Internet banking was also set up immediately over the phone once I'd received my account details. Be prepared, however as they ask you for five ( I think it's five) different pieces of memorable information which they vary when you want to access your account online.
Highly recommended for anyone in our situation. Quick, efficient, friendly - I told her that I was a bankrupt and she didn't turn a hair - useful and, as if that wasn't enough - they have an ethical investment programme so you know that what little money you have isn't buying guns or burning rainforests.
What more could you ask???
Best Wishes to all,
Sue0 -
Afternoon all, hope everyone is well!
Quick question - obviously my bank account will be closed imminently, Ive already arranged for my child benefit and child tax credit to be paid into my Husbands account so there isn't a rush to set up a new account.
As I haven't had a card on my account for almost 2 years, we're pretty used to just having my H's account (I got rid of the card in an attempt to stop me going into my overdraft)
Anyway, I decided that I wasn't going to bother setting up a new account, didn't really see the point to be honest when we just use my H's - but wondered if I did and used it sensibly (which lets face it I will be - never getting credit again) would this improve my credit rating - or will that not happen at all while the bankruptcy is still on my file and I'm not discharged from it.
I'm not overly bothered about my credit rating at the moment - I dont intend on getting any credit - but when my H leaves the forces we'll obviously have to get a home and we'd quite like to buy - obviously my bankruptcy will effect what sort of mortgage we can have (though this wont be an issue for about another 13 years if all goes according to plan with H's career) - but if I can start improving it then when it is something we look into seriously obviously the better my credit rating the better mortgage deal we'll have.
Hope that all makes sense! What do you think?LBM: 25th November 2010 - total debt: 10762.38
