Hi Sandra,
Myvesta certainly gave you some good free advice. I think, with all of the agencies the advice given is often only as good as the person giving it, as people can interpret information differently.
Often it is better to seek advice from more than one source, as indeed you have done, and even then seek the views of other people.
Cheers

This is so true!
The original DMC I had was useless!
I emailed the guy in charge and told him what Myvesta had set up - and guess what - he didn't bother to email me back! What a surprise!0 -
Hi guys :-)
many thanks to those who replied and answered my questions....I appreciate it...thank you xxx
I plucked up the courage to tell my partner (don't live together, 3 years together but hopefully moving in together/marriage within the next couple of years)...he was fantastic...(loves my man)...and listened and offered what advice he knew...
He agrees with me that instead of paying into a DMP till god knows when, I should bite the bullet an go BR (my credit rating will still be !!!!!! no matter what)....be crap for 6 years with BR...or 20 plus with dmp??
However, apart from those debts...my bank account has only been OD twice in 6 years (when Tax creds boogered my payments up) , I have never been beind/late with bills, tv
licence etc, gas, elec etc...so all in all a healthy bank account....
I was wondering about whether to offer my creditors the max i can afford...which would be a lump sum of 1000 maybe a bit more...bearing in mind my debt is much more than that...but if I went BR they'd get virtually zero...
I've read all the horror stories about DCAs.....but I'd like to blow the trumpet of one.....CCIS ltd....handling my mortage debt....advised me to go to CCCS, add them to the DMP....I emailed them 2 days ago and said I didn't think anything would happen before Jan....they replied same day via email (have never contacted me via phone, and they have my number)....'many thanks, let us know, or CCCS, when the situation changes'......
I have a fantastic relationship with the DCA that are chasing the big debt and can't praise them enough....no hassle, they always say pay what you can afford etc, and I'm on first name terms with the chief so to speak...
anyway...sorry for babbling again...I just wondered whether it was feasible to offer something like 1,000 off a 10,000 debt, bearing in mind they'll probably get nothing (SOA, ingoings etc) if i'm br...0 -
if you are going br don't give them anything!!
You will need the money for the court fees and if i were you i would stash a little bit to fall back on as your bank account will more than likely go!
the or would not take too kindly to you 'favouring' a creditor before bankruptcy.
blimey your up late~ and i'm up early again :rotfl:coupon over here, coupon over there, every crack filled with coupons even down there(meaning under the buggy lol):D0 -

Do NOT do this - it could land you in trouble. The OR WILL ask you if you have made any payments, or offers of payments, to any specific creditor, that could be seen as putting them in a more favourable position than any of your other creditors.
My advice is that, once you decide on Bankruptcy, STOP paying ALL creditors, other than your normal household creditors - electric, phone, water etc., immediately.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.

Hi guys,
Hope everyone is well!
Just a quick update on our bankruptcy situation -
- Basic bank account opened at NatWest - Step account - no bankruptcy clauses anywhere
- Called Court - no appointment needed - lovely lady I spoke to (phew, I was worried about even calling them!) said 'just turn up'!
- Paperwork all done online...two lots...gave myself a headache lol
- Fees sitting on my desk, very sad to have to pay that amount in cash sob, but a small price to pay to be free finally
- So...just have to go down there and make the leap...currently planned for first week in December as we have to move my salary payment, standing orders etc first. Also have to think of a plausible excuse to be away from work for a morning...any ideas??? I have no holiday left
Good luck to you all, I'm thinking of you...hope that you are all getting there
Once my SOA has been approved by the OR I'll post it here!

I have come to the part of the br forms (right near the end - hooray!) which seem to me the most difficult.
*The reason why you find yourself in this position
* When did you first have difficulty paying your debts?
To take the second point first, this is quite tricky as there is no actual point I can fix on. In the last few months I found we were not able to buy proper amounts of food, or any clothes/shoes for much longer than that. That was when we realised there was no option but to seek advice and from there we are going br.
Or is it the point when any income put in the bank account doesn't take the account into credit and you are living only on the overdraft - i.e there is no way to get into credit again?
(I'll think about the 1st point later!)0
