rog2 wrote:Since my Bankruptcy Hearing, I have to say that, whilst most of my creditors seem to have left me alone, or accepted my statement 'that I have been declared bankrupt and they must wait until they hear from OR' I am being constantly plagued by MBNA (surprise, surprise:rolleyes: ).
I have told them, on three separate occasions, of my situation. The last time was last Thursday, when I was contacted by telephone, by someone claiming to be one of their 'Senior Account Managers'. I repeated the statement and asked him to stop harrassing me, otherwise the OR would see it as an attempt to gain preferential status.
Since then, I have received two emails, from MBNA - telling me to contact them regarding my account.
This morning I received a very nasty letter, from MBNA, telling me that I have not accepted any of their offers of help, and despite the fact 'that they are putting in a great deal of effort to find a solution to my problems', I am running out of time fast. The letter goes on to threaten me with the possibility of a CCJ, siezure of assetts and ultimately Bankruptcy.
Is there No internal communication within MBNA?
The biggest problem is that they are constantly telephoning, when I am not here, and it is causing distress to my wife.
I have, as said, tried telling them, but they just don't seem to want to listen - any ideas please.
Email the people who have written to yo... They will have dorect email...

I reported both MBNA and Amex to the OFT re their tactics - who emailed and had passed it on to my local TSO, whom I had informed anyway!
The TSO sent out an automatic reply via email telling me that the TSO is away until 27/11??
If this is what goes on, there is no wonder that MBNA et al, carry on this ridiculous behaviour. If there is no-one in an official capacity that has the power and the control to keep these maladministrated companies in line, where does it leave the consumer?0 -
Rog2 you have my sympathies.
The best thing you could do is to change your phone number. I know you shouldn't have to do so, but it will give you peace of mind.0 -

Thanks Sandra - unfortunately a change of number is not really an option as the family is so spread out, over the globe, it would be almost impossible to let everyone know.
I have taken Mike's (and ZTD's) advice and have sent an email to their complaints department telling them that ANY further calls will be reported to OR.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Take a look at the online form, since it is easier to complete AND it doesn't matter if you make a mistake since you can go back and correct it.

Give Cashplus a call - you should have had it within 7 days.
As your income is only benefits I would open a Co-op Cashminder account now - it takes 7-10 to open.
As soon as you have your Cashminder Account Number, ie the proper card, you can have money transferred to it.0 -

Hi Sarah - I understand it can take up to two weeks for cashplus - but it depends - can be as quik as a week.
The rules on bank accounts are not black and white. It depends on OR, who will look at your account, and decide on whether or not you may continue to use it - the final decision may also be influenced by your bank. Ideally, though, you should ensure that you 'empty' your account before your br hearing and make arrangements for salary etc. to be paid into another account (perhaps one belonging to a relative) until you have opened a basic account. I would not reccomend opening a basic account until after your OR meeting - just in case OR allows you to keep existing account.
Cashminder account can take up to 15 days.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
