            Thanks for all the supportive responses - they really help a lost and bewildered Aunty Axe a great deal!
 I do understand in the current political climate there will be mor erefusals, but it's very hard not to take it personally when I've held off from applying for 4 years.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to break My attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 My attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0

 For HRM you need to be unable to walk or virtually unable to walk, unfortunatly blue badges arent given out upon the same criteria and they are given out to people willy nilly or so it seems and being awarded a blue badge certainly dosnt mean that you are entitled to HRM:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0

 Sorry, what's so funny?It looks like they have disregarded all evidence and gone on an unsympathetic doctors report as they didn;'t even want me to have a medical.
 Medicals are given if they feel they don't have enough information to go on. Or, in my case, not contact my GP and tell me that I'm fine and that I have nothing wrong with me - I wish!Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

            I'm always happy to be corrected if I am wrong. From my reading, sunnyone, the criteria are much the same. Can you point me in the right direction for where you found the info on the differences please? The criteria for discretionary BBs are so lax anyone can get one if they have a tame GP (or are over a certain age in some areas), you can look up the criteria for each and post them if you want but I wouldnt waste my time because discreionary criteria is exatally that!!!!!0

            I'm not even bothering to apply....if others on here get turned down and I see them as being worse than me, then what chance do I have.
 Well you have to be in it to win it as they say.
 Just write down how your condition affects you, what help you need and how (if at all) your mobility is compromised and what help you need for that. Say how often you need the help and how often the difficulties occur. Provide evidence from the relevant health professionals if you can. Do not exaggerate, but do not minimise your condition.
 We helped my son's girlfriend apply, she has Aspergers' Syndrome and she was successful in getting low rate mobility and care.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

 I think I'm in the same boat. For my son's dla, they translated 'I take care of all son's personal needs' into 'DS1 can take care of all his own needs'.Just telephoned them and asked them if they read the correct application form
 I've waited 11 months but have a tribunal on 28th. Went from MRC and LM to nothing, despite his condition not changing. Evidence I've submitted is a diagnosis report from his Aspergers assessment, psychologist report, and a couple of different school reports on support son receives - all of which backs up what I have written in the claim form.Payment a day challenge: £236.69

 firstly to sunnyone;
 that is not the case you can also get HRM for mental conditions that involve, being a danger to yourself and others, as listed in DLA's rules, if i can find it, I will post it, as I used it and won my sons appeal with it back, In 2006 he is autistic, and can walk
 back on topic
 Also everyone is getting turned down according to the group Disability and Equality, welfare rights etc and Tribunal have a 7 month backlog because of this, i have been fighting this since 17/09/2010 and have a date for tribunal on 05/10/2010 I have fibromyalgia with secondary pain to all joints, sacroiliitis and severe depression take dihydrocodiene 60mg every 4 hrs and wear a 10 mg butrans patch, Ibruprofen 400mgs when needed, lanzoporosal and venafelixine, 3 specialists and a fab GP and even tribunal have got me to write letters to DLA but they are still sticking with a report written by a doctor that didn't know me, or as I assume didn't look at my file, my doctor has refuted this and wrote a correct report, with info on what it does to me and what I cant do day to day, but he pulled me in to talk about this as he states "how do I know what people can do at home, do DLA think I live with my patients" I use a wheelchair as, I can't move without pain in all my joints, which effects everything day and night, ie dressing, bathing, sitting, standing, sleeping 0 to a few hr, then oversleeping, can't even make a brew and the most undignified, even need taking to the loo and still got turned down, so my advice is, you just have to keep going, collect as much evidence as you can, and take it to tribunal. At my last renewal I got a letter back saying that I'm not at risk of blackouts! All the way through the form I wrote about how I constantly black out. Called and asked for a reconsideration and got my award reinstated 3 weeks later. You do wonder about them sometimes though.0
