well I did write a long post, with ideas on how to help your situation but it got lost when the system decided to log me out.

Have you claimed housing benefit and council tax benefit?

Why are you paying back the gas bill from your old house? was that not included in your BR? It should have been.

If it was after the BR, then tell them you can only afford repayments of £5 per month. Make it more manageable. £5 to them is better than nothing.

Call WTC again and explain your income is not guaranteed, it is flexible, it is paid inconsisently, etc. and you have no money to survive on. They can make some kind of payment I am sure, even if only £50 per week.

there are charities out there that will help with food donations.

for freecycle, you only need to post up one item. It could be something as small as a voucher. It does not have to be taken, just the fact you post offering it. There are £5 boots vouchers for eye tests, you could offer that. Cheaper than paying £25 for an eye test.

I feel our offers of help and advice are just going round and round in circles. Every possible and probable way of helping seems to have an excuse lined up as to why Nohope can't do it/can't get it/can't be a**ed.
I too am an ex BR and yes it has been very frugal but at no time was I living on less than a pound a week. In England, I don't think so. To emerge from BR - in debt, HOW?
Can I urge you again Nohope to visit either the CAB or some other debt advice agency and the local benefits office. Take a cold hard look at what it is you are calling work, that doesn't pay you?
A lot of good people on here are putting a lot of time and thought into trying to help you. It seems that you should also be trying to help yourself.
Yes, it is your diary but it is out there for public perusal and there are a lot of sweet people on here who should be praised for the input that they give.
Time to stop wallowing and start moving forward, methinks.

Really, it is common sense that should prevail here Nohope - if you have no money, you have to realise why, and it is not the irregular income that is the problem is it? No ..... it is the expensive car you are running. It may be 'part of you' but, if you want money to live on, the car has to go. You have to be realistic here ..... add up just how much the car is costing you a month in car tax, MOT, repairs, and fuel ..... if it's an old car, it will certainly not be economical to run, that's for certain.

OK, you need a car for work ...... A car ..... not that car! Sell the car and get another banger, lots of us drive them, in fact most of us drive them - we have to, as we can't afford to run anything else. And if you won't get much for it, then just take it off the road and accept that, no car = no work ..... at the minute anyway. You mentioned that you tried to sell your car before the bankruptcy, so you were willing to give it up then ;)

But it is, of course, your choice - run the car, do your work when you can afford the fuel, wait for pay that may or not come, and live on pennies a week for food .............. or DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!

So many people have offered you advice on this thread and elsewhere, but I have yet to see you put any of that advice into practice ........ TO HELP YOURSELF

What you have to realise is that people are trying to help you because they want to and because you do need help, in fact you are crying out for it. Not all of the advice you will get will be suitable ......... or to your liking ........ but it is given freely and with the best intentions

But, as I say, it is up to you ............ TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR SITUATION or wallow in it - that's how I see it anyway - it really is time to make up your mind Nohope ....... which outlook with you take? The one with truly NO HOPE or the one with A FUTURE? Your choice ....................................

I don't know for sure how much it will be, because i doubt they'll pay me everything they owe me. Maybe it depends which side of bed the payroll clerk, got out of.

Hi, NH. Why will the company not pay you everything they owe you? Do you mean they will never pay you everything they owe you? And will you let them get away with this? Do they owe you money from the past? If so, maybe it is time to put a bit of pressure on them.

I feel you're being unfair in saying Nohope can't a**ed. It is'nt i have'nt tried. I've tried everything. I've been to cab, i've applied for housing benefit, wtc and the like. I work in a very ' grey ' industry, and even hmrc can't fit me into a box, as i'm neither employed nor how they would define self employed. I've had this argument with hmrc for years, as have colleagues. So maybe even with the most well intended advice, YOU TRY, because i've tried and tried and the answer is always the same.

If you can seriously say there are'nt people who cannot afford food in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, the UK, or whatever, you must lead a very sheltered life. Open your eyes, its all around you. There are people who can't afford food. I have collegues who similarly end up like me on a regular basis, asking the same question, when am i going to be paid? I know someone from outside the industry who worked on a job with me last year, who simply did'nt believe how long i wait to get paid. Thats until it was their turn to be paid for this job. Six months, before they received their pay, despite all the hassling. Its totaly unacceptable, i know, but at least i have a job, that i sometimes enjoy. But no paid holidays or sick leave. Thats just the way it is.

Look around the streets of any town or city. People begging, because they have no food or anywhere to sleep. I have to say i'm sorry mate, i have'nt got anything, and its true. Despite the outward appearance i have to create for work, theres the side that people don't know about. My work colleagues, still, don't know how i'm struggling, or what i've been through, but thats my choice. Most work colleagues have a partner, a buffer, with another income, but there are one or two in a similar situation to me, and if the pay does'nt come, theres no solution. Occasionaly we help each other out, with the odd sandwich, if one of us has no food or money that day, and thats the best we can do.

Maybe more needs to be done by the government of this country, or there should be more awareness of people who are struggling to make a living. Because i'm working off my own bat, and trying my best to survive. It was the same for my mum, as i've already said in my diary. She struggled on her own for many years, after my dad passed away. She worked as long as she could, into her 70's, as she could'nt afford to stop work, either. They were self employed, too. I used to visit as often as i could, given the distance between us, and although i did'nt have much money either, i 'd take her shopping for her little treats, she could'nt afford in her normal shop. Things that most people take for granted, cheese, tomatoes, and bananas. Bloody ginger biscuits, too. It was sad to see how patheticaly she thanked me. I'll always remember, Theres too many forgotten people in todays soceity, in this country, today. Pensioners, the homeless, even quite ordinary people like me.

Yes i know, i know, i know i need to get rid of my car. I was looking on the internet, and someone could'nt give the same car away for £500. Lets be realistic here and ask what i can buy for less than £500. Factor in, i don't just use my car to go a few miles to the shops or whatever. I need a reliable car that i know i can turn the key and off i go, as sometimes i travel hundreds of miles in a day. Its got to be 100% reliable and as old as it is, its 100% reliable, ( touch wood ). Factor in, i've spent £2000 on new tyres, discs, brake pads, catalytic convertor, cam belt, err anything else? , because i could'nt sell. I'd be insane to sell it now, and start buying new tyres etc again. Once i've paid the road tax, i should have a years trouble free motoring, ( touch wood ), note, should. Ok the insurance is maybe higher than another car, but asking other people, with the cost of insurance escalating, my insurance is , i think £500 a year, aaargh, its always been £200 - £300. Thats a shock to the system, for me, but maybe not as bad as some people i've spoken to. And my insurance only went up because i moved., obviously to a more crime ridden area. Yes the road tax is expensive because of the engine size, and that affects petrol consumption, too.

So yes, i've tried to sell it several times, but i'm not giving it away. No way. I've got to have a reliable car for work. End of. And its a reliable car, as old it may be, you can't get a better car. Anyway, i've alreay got an old banger, why change one old banger for another one. But yes, i'm always on the lookout for a ' buyer ' and if i find one i'll sell, ( at the right price ). Even the ones in the owners club are'nt selling, ( i do keep half an eye out, even though i'm not a member ).

Oh and whille i'm thinking about it, i've tried main dealers, poxy dealers, and my own adverts too,

Ah, i think i know what is going on.

Sw, i have done my best to reply to every post you have made to me. As i'm sure i've already said several times, i don't believe in god, therefore it would'nt be appropriate to go to church.

I sense someone has a very large wooden spoon, and i can guess who it is. What a shame you all feel like that.

But like i've already stated on here. I don't pm or receive pm's,so i've no idea what is happening here. Its way over the top of my head. So if you prefer wooden spoons, c'est la vie.

With love and hugs to you saving wannabee.
