Life after bankruptcy?

Hmm, does money buy happiness? I'm sure it does'nt, but i'd say it brings financial security. Obviously. Sadly, no one can live without it.
Prominently in my mind at the moment - jobs, housing and pension. Got some more info from someone in the know, re housing yesterday. Its surprising, the things you don't realise, when you're a novice, like me. Always had my own home, see.
Jobs - they are suitably depressing, of course. How far are you willing to compromise yourself in the knowledge something is'nt right for you? Or positively wrong? I HAVE a job, and a job i'm relatively happy with. Ok, week two with no work, means bad news. No work = no pay. Its either got to be wtc or jobseekers or whatever it is. Even one days work a week = working. This is the time when you need the support from a partners income. Two wages are better than one.
Pensions. Still got plenty of time to decide. My mum always used to say, i wonder how long i've got left? Of course, now i know how long she had left, at any given point. I never understood why she wanted to know, because she never DID anything with her life. So what difference did it make? how long she had. But this would be useful to know, when assessing all the pension carp.
But does any of it make any difference, if you are in control of your own destiny?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

IF there are 2 incomes - problem with being self employed, the work can dry up... and then there is no money.0

Know about that one Aesop... the good news chez Miggy is that DH's job is going to be around for a few months - we heard yesterday - but the writing is one the wall for the present post: it's likely all the contracts will come to an end, all the jobs be re-invented and everyone plays musical chairs for them.
As for me, I have an extra shift tonight, which would feed us for five days at present rates...and I'm putting off doing anyhting useful today so I shall disappear off in a minute.
Ani - my freebie local paper has just arrived - will let you know if there's anything good in the jobs.Miggy

Which entails, ermmm that ugly word, SAVING, so theres an emergency pot, for when there is no work.
Unfortunately, i can't seem to manage it yet, ( will i ever manage it )? I think its called, living hand to mouth.
NO - if you can't meet the basic commitments you have, saving is a no,no.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

That just about sums it up on the job front, at the moment.
I'm sure it does'nt matter who you are or where you live.

McDonalds, then? Nah... I see you behind a nice bar somewhere, though. You would be great with the customer relations bit. I'm sure some of us could be persuaded to increase the takings...
Off to sleep in a bit, thanks for asking.Miggy

OKay. I've been to the chippy. It was closed, but theres no longer an advert in the window. Thats a shame. In seriousness, they did'nt even bother to give me a call. C'est la vie.
The odd job is creeping in, at the moment, and i suppose one days work a week is marginally better than being on jsa or whatever. But its a long way from sustaining a roof above my head.
More investigation into hb, today, gives the realisation hb is not a possibility whilst i live here, and in reality would mean instant eviction. Thats just the way it is, with some people, and who could blame them? since i , indeed, can't afford the rent.
I wanted to see the programme on landlords, last night, but missed it, due to my neighbour. I don't mind. Its rather sad when someone so elderly, would like to sit out at night, but is too frightened or does'nt have the confidence, to do this, alone. They wanted to do it again. No probs with me, if i'm not working. Bless. People are more important than anything else, are'nt they?
I was also talking to someone yesterday. Straight out, said they were bankrupt and had lost their business, and in the middle of having their house repossessed. A real life person. They never thought they'd end up as they are. Quite. I can't describe how it feels to hear some one else describes the feelings you've had to endure yourself. So is'nt it bound to make anyone feel the same? Not just me. Weird, hearing some one else describe the emotions. I'm sure its more widespread than you think, but we live in a soceity of denial. Few can express how they are really feeling.
Maybe spend more time tomorrow, targeting jobs i'm only interested in. I have a short attention span. I get bored, easily. Its got to be interesting, or different / unusual, whatever. Or even something i have a passion, for. Actually, i like the job i have. I think somehow, i'll have to sit this one out. Is it worth, sitting this one out?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
