Life after bankruptcy?

Enjoy being chained to your desk and eating frogs fw.
Actually its not a day of fun, and i feel its something you would have really enjoyed, otherwise i would'nt have invited you. Its going to be educational, enlightening and interesting. Nor was it outdoorsy, although unfortunately, it does'nt include a visit to a coffee shop, as i never visit coffee shops. Never mind. So. Yes. I am going to have a day out today. I can't really afford the £1.30, but what the heck. Its something i've wanted to do for years, and i might as well before all the young people are on holiday.
I don't have any friends to meet, so slight change of plan in that i will wait until the postie has been, first, as i'm desperately waiting on a cheque, as ever. The sort of cheque where you ring on the 3rd, to check (scuse the pun ) its been sent out. They say oh yes, its sitting right here on my desk, to be sent out, which still has'nt arrived, so it will therefore be at least the 14th july before my pay clears in my bank account, ( if i'm lucky). Pay day is supposed to be the 5th. If the cheque arrives today, its imperative its deposited in my account, ( as ever ).
I've got lots i should / could be doing today, but i've always been spontaneous and impulsive. You only live once, and whilst i'm still here? Its amazing how some people, my mum, for instance, had to know two months in advance of a family visit. No dropping in to my parents for a cup of tea. Oh no. I could never understand it, and to some extent it makes you feel rejected. Everything had to be cleaned, washed and aired, first. Is'nt it odd or funny even, how different people have different perceptions? Crikey, i did'nt care what the house was like, i just wanted to be able to call in and see my folks. Never to be, unfortunately.
Whats that got to do with how i'm feeling today?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I was late getting out, as i was waiting for the postie, but it was worth waiting for, as my cheque arrived. So cheque now in bank account, awaiting clearance. It won't be there for long though, sadly.
Had a very interesting afternoon. My trip out cost zero. How about that for being mse? Largely because the ticket office was'nt open , and i did'nt get to pay my £1.30. In fact, i had a profit, as i found 5p in roadkill. All these people who don't have the need or can't be bothered to bend down and pick up their ' loose change '.
I only visited one of my chosen venues, as i discovered it was the only one which was free :rotfl:However its possible to buy a concessionary pass to several venues, for £5, so i'll wait until i join the ranks of those officially on low incomes, and have a few trips out, then. Which reminded me today, i had'nt been to collect a form for help with health costs, so i called into the job centre to collect one, whilst i was out. Unfortunately on the way home, i called in for some food supplies, so i did end up spending £13, but its been a while, as ever, since i did a ' big ' food shop. Needs must for £10 worth of petrol, tomorrow, and thats officially my spending over for the immediate future, ( apart from bills, of course ).
I've been mulling over pensions all week, and i've blinded myself with science. Well, they are of a complex nature, anyway. But i now know just about where i stand, and its not a comforting prospect. I've always known i'll never be able to afford to retire, but its a worrying prospect as health and body starts to deteriorate, beyond repair, ( no, the jab did'nt work ). I need to make some important pension decisions in the not too imminent future, and i find it impossible to predict which will be the best decision, for me. The last step is to have my official state pension forecast, as i seriously need official bods to work out my entitlement. Aaaargh, enough about pensions, for now. But its never too soon to think about these things, and its a bleak future ahead. Still theres...............Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Yay to cheque arriving, profitable trip and food in the cupboards. Sorry about pension... have to say mine isn't healthy either though I am buffered by DH having lots of contributons. Spoilt, really, though I put in my share raising the kids which is 24/7 work with no pay or pension!
Will you get the jab re-done? Or do you have to wait a while?
I have just been mulling over the fact I actually have extra work this week - swings and roundabouts, hey? I'm grateful for it but I wish I could share. Fancy a waking night shift?
By the way that 5p is 1% towards your £5 pass and some more adventures.I've taken up wombling loyalty card points and cashed in about 40p's worth this week. A really good time to be on the look-out seems to be after the secondary school has finished for the day: all the kids descend en masse and leave receipts about.
I wonder whether the staff look at me and think 'Does she have a fetish for Coke and strawberry laces?'.

Glad you've got plenty of work, miggy. I've got week 3 with no work on the horizon. This i going to hit me very shortly, with no pay and currently no benefits. In fact, no income at all. How is one supposed to live?
As i'm sure you know? these injections are difficult to obtain in the first place, and i was told you are only allowed three a year. I don't know if hearsay is true?

I had a pretty good sleep, thanks, Ani.
I don't know about the injections. It may be what you say is true, but you'd have to check with your doctor. In any case as the injection is so horrible and results aren't guaranteed, I suppose you may think twice about inflicting another on yourself at short notice.
As to how one is supposed to live? Even though you're self employed, you're constantly on the look out for work and not just in your usual field. The only thing I can think of - and forgive me if you've covered this in the past, I get confused- is whether you could apply for Job Seekers' Allowance?
Are you in touch with any of your colleagues? I wondered how they are coping: you've mentioned before that sometimes you have been the only one keeping a smile on your face and going on working for impossible employers.Miggy

Hey Miggy, I have been reading about wombling receipts this week and it had never occured to me before - I might start though. I did nearly pick one up in Mr T today but had a slight 'episode' in there during the week with a friend (I wanted her cc points and she wouldn't let me have them even though she didn't use her cc herself, calling me a !!!!!) so I figured that I didn't really want another scene. Some people just don't 'get it' at times.
Ani - glad the cheque arrived. Sorry to hear the injection (whatever it was for) hasn't really worked. Are there any other alternatives?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
