TBH I think a lot of people (including me) have money or the lack of it on their mind a lot of the time if not most of the time or all of the time.Hey ho.

Beanie, I think you're right, I certainly do - I don't know if some of us are just naturally life's worriers or whether life / circumstances have moulded us that way? I'm not sure i recall when I wasn't always looking for a way to get the best deal out of something or where the cheapest X could be found. Sometimes I wonder whether I'm a bit obsessive about it - where does caution end and OCD begin? Still, as you say - hey ho. x

Ani - glad you got a bit of time to chill and relax - you deserve it x

I saw one magpie on two seperate occasions, last week. What is it? One for sorrow?

How can you tell it was the same one? They all look the same to me.

Two for joy, of course. ;)

Was tatco around then? I remember shopping at fine fare, whatever happened to them? Everything was bright yellow!

    1 for sorrow
    2 for joy
    3 for a girl
    4 for a boy
    5 for silver
    6 for gold
7 for a secret never to be told
    8 for a wish
    9 for a kiss
10 for a bird that you must not miss.

The modern version of the rhyme. I wonder how many people know it, nowadays. In fact, i wonder how many people could recognise a magpie?

Of course, theres no way of knowing if it was the same magpie? :D

  • Hi Ani, good to see that you've had some pay (even if it was a cheque) and had some spare time to be frivolous with at last.

My stuffed womble was called Tromso - chosen in the proper way with a pin in a map. :)
    Whatever

A few weeks ago I saw a tree with at least 20 (and prob more in) magpies. Never seen so many in one place like that before. I was wondering whether it's allowed to count that as 3 lots of gold and some joy too? :rotfl::rotfl:

Wow Kerri - that's extraordinary! I always thought it was a Parliament of magpies (which might explain why we never see the gold) but when I googled, I found it's a congregation, charm, flock, gulp (!), murder, tiding, tittering or tribe. So now I know.

However, I prefer your suggestion: three lots of gold and some joy wouldn't go amiss!
