Thanks to all, for your hugs. As i always say, all a person ever needs is the odd kind word or hug.
That last post was such a post of frustration. I'm working, i'm earning money, i'm working to extremes, to earn money. Its so frustrating, this never ending state of waiting to be paid. A colleague rang yesterday and asked if i'd been paid for a job they are waiting to be paid for. A job we did two months ago, now. I was on the ball with that one. Yes i have. I'm the only person who has been paid, so far. I'm doing my best to make sure i'm reimbursed as quickly as possible. We all moan and say we can't/ won't do this any longer. But we all still do. So there you go.
Said cheque arrived yesterday, but i arrived back too late to bank it. Posted on the 12th. Right. So its off to the bank as soon as it opens this morning. I've taken a big hit in tax and ni. Never mind. It will go towards the overall bill. I rang the dentist yesterday and they said they would give me two weeks to pay, but i'm still unsure whether to go or wait and see what comes of the wtc issue. On the other hand, niggles mean that further, more expensive damage is being done. I'll have to make my mind up one way or the other, today. Given that b***** cheque won't clear until the end of the week. Why did'nt they just pay it into my account? They have my account details. Buys them another week, huh? I'm tempted to have the cheque cashed elsewhere, but then you've got to think, can i really afford to lose £100. But its tempting, all the same.
I generally found mse too much at the weekend, for one reason, or another. But reading between the lines, and i have a tendency to trust my instincts, Its largely a selfish world in which we live. You've got to think about self, self, self before all else. Maybe thats where i failed in life, because i never put myself first. I always considered others, before myself. But are'nt the rewards, however small, worth it? Thanks roo for your kind words, because thats always what i've been about.
I should make a move. I've got a cheque, to bank. The first of many, i hope.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I'm around,just been busy.
Was going to post this morning to check how you all were. Now I know.
Yes, you are right ani. It should be think about self first, then everyone else. Because deep down we all need to think about ourselves as number 1, then worry about everyone else.
Although a lot of us don't do that. A lot of us think about everyone else around us, make sure they are ok, before we think about ourselves.
Yesterday, I was trying to declutter and I found a letter I wrote to the council 2 years ago, it was very sad reading it, as it still applies to me now.
I threw it away but felt like keeping it but that is no inheritance for DS to find. I want him to remember his childhood as being happy.
Anyway, good news on the cheque ani.
Not sure what you read on mse over the weekend but as always this is a massive forum.
Take care. x0 -
Which brings me back to my diary. I've had a visitor. Hi Aesop. x I wonder what the letter said? Did you lose your home too?
Plans for the cheque. Pay bills, pay rent, maybe pay dentist, not sure, pay ni, reimburse savings account by £9, and reimburse £2 pasta jar, ( how sad is that ), by £54 .Expenses are costing a fortune, at the moment. I'm sure theres something else i have to pay. Then i'll be back to stage one, again...............................Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Thanks to all, for your hugs. As i always say, all a person ever needs is the odd kind word or hug.
And coffee - don't forget the coffee! (Or in your case, the Earl Grey). That last post was such a post of frustration.
We know that, hun (hugs). I see such a different Ani depending whether or not you've been paid.We all moan and say we can't/ won't do this any longer. But we all still do. So there you go.Said cheque arrived yesterday
Yay! And about time too, but I'm so pleased you have it.I rang the dentist yesterday and they said they would give me two weeks to pay, but i'm still unsure whether to go or wait and see what comes of the wtc issue. On the other hand, niggles mean that further, more expensive damage is being done. I'll have to make my mind up one way or the other, today
What did you do in the end? I've just been to the dentist: thorough examination, discussion and four Xrays don't come cheap but on the other hand he's happy for me to go a year before the next appointment. Turns out my particular niggles were probably in the gum etc. You don't want to hear details. You've got to think about self, self, self before all else. Maybe thats where i failed in life, because i never put myself first. I always considered others, before myself. But are'nt the rewards, however small, worth it?
There's a time and place for everything. Loving others as yourself has to involve loving self. It's also important to remember the advice they give on aircraft: if you have to put on emergency equipment (oxygen mask thing), do your own before you help anyone else. That requires a certain amount of enforced detachment but it makes very good sense - end of sermon.Plans for the cheque. Pay bills, pay rent, maybe pay dentist, not sure, pay ni, reimburse savings account by £9, and reimburse £2 pasta jar, ( how sad is that ), by £54.
That sounds as though your savings were mounting up well - and even though you had to spend them, you had them to spend. How is the NI doing?Miggy

I think we have to be careful... as I said to Ani, to love others properly we have to take care of ourselves too. Not always easy and especially not easy to get the balance right.Yesterday, I was trying to declutter and I found a letter I wrote to the council 2 years ago, it was very sad reading it, as it still applies to me now.
I threw it away but felt like keeping it but that is no inheritance for DS to find. I want him to remember his childhood as being happy.
I think you did the right thing.I hope things change with whatever the issue is, you and your DS deserve that happy childhood.

:o Well, they say your true friends will tell you!
Regarding true friends, they also say - when the going gets tough, the tough get going, ( also a Billy Oce*n song ).
I think that has been proven. Categorically
But on the flip side, would'nt you also be devasted if a true friend told you needed to change your deodorant ?

I have never had a mortgage. Never had enough money for the deposit. We always rent and what we pay in rent, has sometimes been more than my friend's mortgages.
I would rather my friend be honest and tell me I smell than not tell me at all. Although there have been times my friends have made comments about things and I have deliberately chosen to ignore their comments. How I live my life and bring up my DS is my choice. I don't agree with all their actions, namely their kids are lazy, and will not walk any distance, because they have made them that way, but I don't tell them this!0
