Life after bankruptcy?

Ah, there we go. Thousands of alcoholics receiving incapacity benefit. Maybe i should take to drink? Although i don't like the feeling of being out of control and even less, the world spinning. Don't people use alcohol to blank things out? Did'nt even have chance for a drink, yesterday. Maybe i should blank things out and get paid for doing it, too?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I think for some people, they have other people to help, like an OH. Also, some people are able to claim working tax credits, which I know you can't claim yet, until your NI is paid upto date, and even then, your job falls into a grey area, so it is hard to show your earnings.
I think you are one of those that got caught by the steep interest rate rises, the increased cost of living, etc. If things had not go so bad for this country, you may have been able to keep affording your mortgage, and not have to have to work everyday.
My Manager was saying yesterday she wants to retire, she is 55 and she can't, as she won't get her pension. Then we were discussing how people will end up working until they are 70.0 -
ah you are watching news at same time as me! I just seen that. Obesity and alcohol. time this country got tougher me thinks.
I know a recovering alcoholic who has a 3 bedroom council house. She doesn't need 3 bedrooms. But luck of the draw I guess.0 -
Maybe she could sublet?
There must be lots of people like me, Aesop? Lots? Forgotten human beings, and the very people who have contributed to the benefits system all their life, to provide for those who have never worked, not born in this country, non British citizens. There, i've said it. Someone ban me, now. But its true. Theres all this help for immigrants. The UK is the land of plenty, for some. But what about me?
I think the plan is to have us all working by 70, Aesop, whether you like it or not. I saw a programme some years ago. If i remember, it was in Florida, which has the highest proportion of ' oldies ' , in the world, i think. All working. I can't remember precisely, if they had changed the retirement age, there. Lets face it, we are all living longer, so we will have to work longer, accordingly. The state ' pot ' won't stretch to ordinary people, who have paid tax and ni all their life, expecting to, in return, recieve a small pension, and a bus pass. They are even moving the goal posts, on that one. By the time you retire, the bus pass will no longer exist, Aesop. Believe me. Are'nt they trying to abolish that, too? I'm sure i read somewhere.

I have little more to say in my diary. I'm exhausted form this work / sleep regime. Never ending circles. The hot weather does'nt help, either. I can't function, in the heat. I'm supposed to be at work ,and i just can't get my act, together. AnonDebt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

I'm sorry. Its been a day of dark thoughts, and maybe i should keep them to myself. I keep thinking about the person i know who hanged themself. I wonder if they had been debating over a period of time, or was it just a spontaneous act. Personally, i think it takes some forethought and planning.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Ani, it is your diary. Post what you like.
I have never forgotten the Man that I never knew - I was the last person he ever kissed on the cheek before he went and hanged himself of a local railway bridge. That wasn't a spontaneous act, he had planned it. Why he chose to kiss me on the cheek, I don't know. Never knew him, never spoke to him. Had heard OF him.0
