Ani, I'm not at home, have just grabbed 2 mins on a borrowed laptop and can't use it properly. Not even enough time to read properly. Just wanted to send hugs and say you are worthwhile or we wouldn't be writing to you. Catch up asap.

  • Ani, you don't have to stop work in order to claim the benefits to which you, as a tax payer, are entitled. Go to http://www.turn2us.org.uk/benefits_search.aspx and see whether you can claim either Working Tax Credit or Housing Benefit, or both even. You won't have to give up your job, these are for topping up a low income. Don't just let these entitlements pass you by, the benefits adviser at the CAB will be able to guide you through the process if you don't feel up to wading through all the paperwork yourself.

I'm going to reply for ani and probably get shot by her for it!

at the moment Ani can't claim WTC or HB and CT. She has tried, and oh boy, she has tried so hard!

She is self employed but in an grey area, that does not slot nicely into this box or that box. Therefore when she previously went to the CAB, Council, etc, etc, they all said she would not be able to claim as she could not prove this (am I right here, might be making this bit up), she could not show this, that and the other. She is self employed and has to wait to be paid for work she has done, by the companies she is employed by. They pay as and when they feel like it. Some are good and seem to pay promptly, others when they feel like it.

The work is varied, sometimes abundant but meaning she works long silly hours to earn pennies, and other times very little work around.

She also owes an x amount on her NI contributions. She has been told when she can pay these, she will qualify for WTC (am I remembering right ani?) So poor ani is struggling between paying bills, trying to eat and also saving to pay for her ni.

I did discuss surveys a long time ago, can't remember the answer but there was a good reason it was a no.

Everyone will probably shout at me for this, but hey, I can always delete....

I keep hearing snippets of a song when watching TV, it is a song representing different programs.

So I googled the song to find out who sings it. Now remember I was only hearing the music and a few lines, and I liked what I heard.

Now I have heard the whole song and understood the meaning behind it, and seen other people's comments on the song.

However, it reminded me of you ani.

    so here it is

I don't know what to say. All your replies have reduced me to tears.

Ironicaly, i was'nt going to post anymore in my diary, as i'm aware i'm pushing boundaries that no one wants to acknowledge, exist. I also emailed mse yesterday, to ask if i could continue my thoughts in a more private blog, that no one feels obliged to read or reply to. I loathe myself as much as you, all do. Although i feel i try and help myself as much as i possibly can, of course its not always easy, to keep completely positive.

Now is not the time to reply. I'm up at this god earthly hour for a reason, and yes, i guess i still do, mostly enjoy my work, which is something to be said, after all these years, as i'm surprisingly, a great people person, and i must go and have a shower and get ready for work , on this occasion. Urgh i can't spell occasion, i'm sooooo tired.

I will reply later, but Aesop has pretty much summed it up.

Thanks to you all Nh xx

    Morning Ani.
It's obvious that you can't carry on as you are. You need to change something.

If I were you, I'd stop doing the work you're doing, look for a job doing something where you'll get paid every week, or at least every month, probably part time to start with but definitely no more than 40 hours a week.
Then you will have a regular income, you'll possibly qualify for benefits, and you'll get time to be yourself doing things that you WANT to do.
You need to recharge your batteries. Your body needs a break. You need to eat.

Then after a time of doing this, when you are recharged and you have some money in your savings account, then maybe think about doing more of the work you enjoy?

There is only you that can make this decision Ani, but I know I'd rather see you doing a 'normal' job, getting a regular wage and having a life back, than dead.

But if you do blog we want to know where! You can't get away from us that easy.

I haven't been posting for the last few days as I was really at a loss for what to say and I feel like that is a poor excuse, I should at least have been sending hugs as that is what I wanted to do to you, that and give you a good feed.

We all care, we all want you to get through this - just some of us are more eloquent than others. It is good to see that people still keep coming up with suggestions.

    Hugs to you my friend.

got a headache and got to run.

BUT (((((ani)))) and believe us when we say we read and post because we want to, not because we feel obligated to!

And if you want a private blog away from us all, fair enough, but you forget the power of Google... my friend.... we would find you and come and read there too....

sorry, don't mean to make you feel bad.

We care, we are your friends. That's all. x
