Maybe you don't get birthday wishes on bits of card but there are lots on here so it would seem that people do indeed care enough to wish you a happy birthday.
Have a good birthday Ani and try to take 5 minutes out to enjoy your daffs.Whatever0 -
Ani - if we'd have had your address I am sure there would be a pile of cards on your doormat today (or possibly have arrived last week as it's seems some of us are a bit 'date challenged'
) so don't you dare say no one cares about you
I would say most of us don't get that same feeling we used to have as a child about birthdays but then I guess that is just part of growing up. Many of us also have to work on our bithdays, and if you asked me what I did last year to celebrate mine, I really couldn't tell you. I expect no one at work knows what day it is as you haven't told anyone? which is fine, and up to you, but don't do them down about that.
I am sure your daffs are lovely and well worth the 99p - even a cursory glance at them as you walk out of the door makes them worthwhile.
I'll be having a slice of virtual cake, and raising my morning cuppa to you wishing you wonderful birthday wishes and hoping that this coming year is a little easier on you x chin up chuckx

Many Happy Returns Ani!
(I have yet to work out what a 'return' is, so for the sake of argument let's say it's your hard-earned cash getting paid on time).
SW, what a superb cake! I seem to have stuck my head round the door at the right time.Though I think that there cello may need a bit of tuning by the state of the strings.
Ani, sorry you were feeling down first thing this morning. I hope you've had a chance for some fresh air and sunshine, and remember we're thinking of you even if we aren't able to send cards. Being on-line friends has its disadvantages as well as its adventages.
And I'm sorry too that you didn't get to have other kids round when you were a child. Nonetheless you've turned into a warm and sociable adult.I hope the day has had some good points even though as adults we don't get quite the same fuss made over us.

Thanks for all your wishes as i'm too exhausted to reply individually. Not been back from work, long. I have'nt been working with anyone i know, today, so thats why people simlply don't remember. It irks me, as i always try to make an effort if i know its someones special occasion. It does'nt cost much, even for someone as poor as me, to put a smile on someones face. You can purchase 10 super cards for £1 from the card fact**Y. Thats 10p each. Life is all about making other people happy, but people don't seem to care about others these days. Its all about self, and self happiness.
I think today has been the most non brthday i've ever had. At least its nearly tomorrow now. Maybe i'm sounding so cynical because i'm so exhausted. I'm nowt but a work machine. I suppose maybe you don't see it as having friends online. To some extent, its just names on a website. I know nothing about each individual, as a human being. Faceless human beings, at that. I sometimes wonder if i've met anyone, inadvertently from mse, in real life. You create pictures of how people may be in real life, look like, in your mind. But its strange, it is just faceless persona's, on a website. I suppose anonymity affords you the freedom, to express your truths.
Thanks for the cake. It is, indeed a cello. I've never played a cello. Hmmm, i have'nt even had chance to eat something today, let alone cake. Its passed me by, now. Time for bed, again. Work, tomorrow, and the next day, and the next, and............................

well only thing I have to say, is please try to remember to eat! And don't be so tired, that you have an accident again and crash your car.
You probably have met someone from MSE in real life, and obviously not know it! I met someone through a different type of social group and she was talking about MSE and I said I post on MSE, we both deliberately did not exchange user names, but she was surprised to have met a real life person from MSE.
anyway, take care. x0 -
Happy Birthday Ani/NH:j:j
Aww Sweetheart please don`t feel so down:A...whether the best wishes are sent on a 10p card or on the computer screen in front of you the meaning is still just as genuine.
You have some good friends on MSE & we do care about you which is why we pop in every day just to say `hi` & catch up on your day & to make sure you are OK.
Personally I don`t `do` birthdays so much these days either although I have a big one looming next year:eek::eek:. It is however a date to be marked with acceptance that another year is passed & actually to celebrate that we made it into the next.:D:D
Sleep well Hun & if you have to work so many long days then please try & take regular breaks & try to get out into the sunshine.

You may think people dont care but they do. You are a worthwhile human being and have everyright to be here. Dont forget that ok. And once again, happy birthday, I hope this year brings you everything you want. Goodnight.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220

What a life you lead Ani. Good job tomorrow is another day and won't have the shadow of 'birthday' looming over it.
I do query whether online friendships are any less real than others. People can be genuine on line, as in real life, just as they can be pretenders in either place.
Ani... are you trying to burn yourself out?
{{{hugs}}} (Worrying about you).

This is true. Maybe the whole of life, is a pretence , for some people. I wish i could be one of those people. Then ,life, would be so much easier, would it not?
Thank god yesterday is over. I don't have to spend the day feeling i'm missing something. A time when friends and family celebrate, even if it was only going out for a meal.
I still don't feel i'll make it to next years birthday. Just what is the point? I've woken up and i'm already tired and down. I went in the bank, yesterday. Everytime i go in, now, i get mutterings about setting up a so into this savings account and i have'nt even had time to open my mail. I'm not really a saver. Any money i can ' save ' now, needs to go towards a deposit on finally finding myself somewhere a bit more permanent to rent. Somewhere i can call mine, after a fashion, as nowhere is ever going to be mine again. But somewhere i can regain my independence. I was looking forward to a day off at easter. Now, i don't even have a day off to look forward to, in the near future. There won't be any domestic work done, when it does eventually come. I think its going to be a stay in bed day, as i've now barely the energy to drag myself out to work.
Realistically, if i don't continue working every day, i won't keep my head above water. I'll never be able to afford the rent for somewhere to live. Otherwise i would have been able to pay my mortgage, and i'd still have my own home. This is what has been bugging me all along. How do other people manage? Especially those on low incomes? Theres no wonder so many young still live at home. How will they ever afford to live, otherwise. So many mature people going back ' home ' to live with their parents, too. Hmmm. I left home at 15 or 16, and never went back to the parental home. Which is amazing, because i have such strong ties of how i wanted it to be.
So the reflection the day after tecnically, i'm a year older, I'm not going to spend the rest of my life working and feeling like this. Just what is the point?Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
