  • Hello all,
I mentioned on this board a while back that I am trying to lose weight by standing on the scales every morning. If I've lost weight I feel great and want to continue being good, if i'VE STAYED THE SAME IT MAKES ME DETERMINED TO SHIFT THAT NEXT POUND AND IF i'VE PUT WEIGHT ON i'M EXTRA SPECIALLY GOOD THAT DAY!
    ( oops sorry for caps!)
I know it's what they tell you not to do but at the moment it's working for me, I have lost 8lbs in six weeks, not a huge amount but then I am not dieting, just trying to eat healthily.
I haven't set myself a goal as I might not get there, i just want to keep losing at a steady pace.
    My start weight was 14.12 and this morning I was 14.4 ( I'm 5'5)
  • Since we adopted our rescue dog (my avatar) I have cancelled my gym membership. I'm losing 2lbs/week just from taking her for a 30min walk 3 times a day. My diet has also changed as i'm no longer eating comfort food - when i'm bored working at home we play in the garden for 10mins.

Obviously I could have done this without a dog - but the motivation is there now.

    Edited to add:

    Weight before dog: 12st 8
    Weight now: 12st 0
Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!

    Gilly41 and all,
Has anyone tried the "raw food diet" (you can perhaps look this up on the internet)? Two of my dear friends are on it and they lost loads. It's not something I could keep up and practise completely but eating a large proportion of the vegetables raw (not all, some can be poisonous raw) might be the way forward.

I personally lost a lot of weight exercising to my Tae-bo DVDs!
(too bad I stopped and put some of the weight back on)...MUST START AGAIN

    Hope this helps

Meanwhile, keep up the good work, fellow MSE dieters!

  • Week 2 Lost 1 1/2 lbs this time.

Im a bit dissapointed not to have lost more as this week has beeen quite hard going. No one told me that your mood goes down with less carbohydrate so Tuesday was not a good day. I ate a bit more this week to counteract the effect but I've still been hungry which I wasn't in the first week. Also Iv'e experienced my metabolism has slowed down, something I had read about but didn't believe would happen. I think this dieting lark is going to be a lot harder than I first thought.
Still, must keep going. I can already see that my face is thinner and my stomach flatter, and also my knees hurt hardly at all. Even Mrs Ebeneezer is losing weight because I'm not plying her with wine all of the time!
  • Hi everyone..

    Hi Everyone!
Well done to this mornings posters---I have lost another 1lb this week! I was hoping for more but I have decided if I lose a 1lb a week between now and Xmas day(which is a Monday!) I will be happy as that will take me back in to the 12stone zone!!
This week I have DRUNK LOADS AND LOADS OF WATER---AT LEAST 2 LITRES A DAY!!! and this is really helping. I have read somewhere that you can shed 1 stone in 2 weeks with drinking that amount per day as some people are holding up to a stone in water(think it is in this weeks BEST magazine!!). So, here I go.
This is day 3 of drinking that amount. I will report next week if it has had a dramatic effect(I am hoping LOL!!!)
Good luck to the rest of days posters xxx

  • Just wanted to say hi to all you guys i am on the verge of joining weight watchers online as i need some help in planning meals for the week which contain the right amount of calories.
If anyone knows of a free online service that can do this i would jump with joy as i am doing a PhD at the moment and money is something of a dream but i have reached the point where i need to lose some weight as my jeans are a struggle every morning.
