I've just upcycled a much loved skirt (its shabby chic styled though.....;)) that was destined for the bin due to it developing holes... :,(

Has anyone ever found a decent paint stripper? I have been given a bookshelf that is think with old coats of paint and want to strip it in the easiest possible way energy wise. Sitting pondering this whilst I can't sleep, as you do!

I like the Wilkinsons one that comes in the white bottle. It doesn't smell too bad and it doesn't burn your skin if you get it on your arms. But it still does the job.
Love the skirt revamp! I wouldn't have thought of that! And I love Chalkys mirrors and vintage prints!

Many thanks for the paint stripper advice. I have tried Nitromors on some other pieces and would have had better results if I had tried to lick the paint off.

I've just bought a drop leaf pedestal style (70s pine) oval dining table and 6 dining chairs. I am thinking of painting them in Annie Sloan paint to put in my through lounge/dining room. I have used pure white for other furniture in the room but am thinking of trying another colour in her range. The walls will be neutral as will the curtains, the floor dark wood. We haven't bought the sofas yet but are thinking of olive green velvet. Would it look odd to paint dining furniture in a colour other than white?

They are doing the utility area first.
I will post some photos tomorrow - hopefully some progress by then.

No, not at all! Go for it! I've seen some stunning blacks and greys. Anything goes!
