That looks like my garage Chalky. I've got one of the bamboo tables in there too. It was sitting in a friends garden so I rescued it and painted it up but don't have anywhere to put it at the moment.

My hoarding tendencies apply to fabric too, I've got 4 suitcases, 5 black sacks, a 5 drawer chest and a 3 shelf unit full of the stuff. I just can't say no!

I've been feng shui ing a triple wardrobe this afternoon. Have managed to chuck away one handbag so far ... Have lost count of how many spare curtains I have, and found a duvet cover I bought in 1974 today. In 2006 I removed 30 car loads of tut to charity etc so I'm overdue for another blitz. Very overdue! :D

I have no issue with keeping things which are beautiful, useful, will be useful (for no more than 6 months. not used and they go). I can't stand keeping things because they6 might come in use 10 years down the line, or might be valuable, or because there is a space to fill in the shed...
My husband is improving as he has finally come to realise that keeping things just makes life hard for him. He is disorganised so it takes him a day to clear the garage before he can work in it!
On the positive side, this thread has encouraged me to get on with setting a small business up which we have been discussing for years! Hooray, thank you!!

That's the realisation I came to; that so much stuff makes life harder rather than easier. One of my ways of managing it is a very good friend who has veto power over my purchases and always says "where's it going, what are you going to use it for etc and that really helps me stay focused.
    Yay on the business!

Wise friend. When it's your wife asking the same things it's called 'nagging wife'...;)

Business idea is very exciting. There are times when having a joiner for a husband is good.

Gingham oil cloth is only £3 a metre in The Range.

I bought 2 metres for my garden table which is rotten and used the offcut a to make the easiest bunting IN THE WORLD!

I've been after a vintage enamelled bread bin to no avail so I decided to make do with what I have and upcycled it.

    It's looking fun n cheerful. :)

That looks lovely jumblejack. If you have a hankering for metal in the future then you can always spray wood with car paint for a metallic finish - I imagine that you could use Hammerite or similar as well but I've not actually tried that myself
