nattyt,im jealous of what your lovely kitchen is going to look like - hope you will post some pics! I would have some nice pastel coloured roman blinds....youve got a few colours you could choose from there with with the selection of things from Next. Like blue/pink dotty, pastel coloured striped, even some nice cath kidston type floral - mmm yummy!

I thought dotty as well but really loving the idea of stripes as well now for a contrast! Going to have a look around tomorrow or Wednesday for inspiration. Have looked on internet but want to see it properly! xx

    Hello All,

I have just bought a electric fire place from the local charity shop, and i do like it but it needs some help to make me love it, it has a tiled hearth which i am not overly keen on - I am going to cover it somehow lol and a marble back It's really nice lol But need some inspiration - Any ideas?
    Thanks Lolly x

Hi everyone, I've decided i'd love to try and make my furniture (and any old things I can find cheap) shabby chic but have no idea in the slightest where to start....im also not exactly the best (or even the tiniest bit good) at DIY so should I give up now? :D

Also so I don't bore you with the simple questions like where on earth do I start etc... is there a page that will tell me? As I don't know what things to buy what type of paint to use, where to buy fancy knobs for drawers and bedside tables etc... :o

Hi Emzy, do you have anything that you are thinking of painting? If so maybe some of us can advise you. I'm new too at all this but its fairly easy as long as you do your prep! I've done some chairs, table and shelf so far. All come out really well. :)
