Hi there, I've spent ages trying to decide whether or not to chalk paint my pine bookcase and finally decided to buy an AS tester pot and try on the back behind the shelves - I can either sand it, or cover it with paper or something if I don't like it.

But then I checked the price of a tester pot - OMG! For the price of 3 tester pots I could practically buy a full size pot.

So I thought I'd look further into DIY chalk paint, and found this:

    http://inmyownstyle.com/2012/08/testing-1-2-3-versions-of-chalk-paint.html#

She demonstrates 2 different recipes, shown against AS paint of a similar colour, and shows them plain, waxed, and how easy they are to distress. Just what I needed to know!!!

Hope you find this helpful, too!
Wilson the Volleyball is one of Hollywood's most loved volleyballs. His glittering career started when he became the only companion of Tom Hanks' Chuck Noland in Cast Away. Many say this is Wilson's best performance and he couldn't have given a better effort.

As part of the house renovations - some furniture is going - just too much of it here.
There is a bookcase very similar to this one.

Mr F has had it quite a while - it stands in the hallway at the moment.
Do I keep it as hall furniture?
If I get rid - will the hall be too bare?
What would I get in it's place if the hall looks too empty?
If I keep it - is it suitable to paint?
If kept and painted - would it look better with the glass removed?

Ok, I would paint, then use a stencil to spray some pretty frosting on the glass. Mini bunting on the edges maybe.
