My wax brush is a 2" paintbrush with the handle sawn off so I can access little areas. Works great and didn't cost a bomb!
So is it a normal shape paintbrush not round like the AS ones?

The paint finish on this is a bit too shabby for me - but I love the whole effect with the wood top. Can you explain how you got it looking so beautiful. I don't have an electric sander can I hand sand if necessary?

I use an AS waxing brush for large areas, I also use an ordinary paint brush as well as a stencil brush for getting into small corners and grooves. I do always use pure bristle brushes though, although I don't know if that makes any difference.

I do find that waxing can be a bit tricky, but the more you do, the easier it gets!

    HTH :)

Yes, they don't have to be round. In fact a round brush would be hard to get into corners...

I didn't use a sander. I stripped the old dull finish, hand sanded lightly, used Rustins wood dye in walnut then a few coats of varnish for gloss and protection. The finish on the top was originally the same as the rest of it in the top picture.

How did you strip the top? I have a Victorian hexagonal table that I keep covered. I would like to do that up - bit worried as it is the only furniture I have that belonged to my Gran. A bit of the ornate base was chewed by my dog but hoping a friend can fix that for me. I have it standing so the chewed bit is at the back!

I use the Wilkinsons own brand of stripper that comes in the white plastic bottle. Just watch your angles with the stripping knife and don't apply too much pressure because you don't want gouges in it. And don't let it dry out. You should work a small area at a time.
