I have just discovered 'OOPs paint' . This is something I read about on American blogs. In your paint shop there might be a section for paint that has been returned for being the wrong colour, or mixed wrong or whatever and at ours it's reduced to 50p a litre! So I got some lovely good quality blue grey paint for £2.50 for a large tin. Yay!

Hmmm. Interesting!! Is this in a chain store? Like b&q or homebase?
    :)

    Hi all,

Wanted to give an update on my table so far as I have a few questions here the table before:

    http://instagr.am/p/U4G2I_I7oK/

    And here it is now,

    http://instagr.am/p/U4G5qJI7oM/

I was wondering if anyone had any tips for getting the last of the "brown paint" from before off, you can make it out on the top, makes it look more distressed, any views? Also I realise it needs a second coat on the legs, I used a very very watered down solution for first coat. Also needs waxing, annie sloan clear wax is meant to be durable enough for the kick board and top, any thoughts?

Thanks guys, I'm actually really enjoying this!

Wood bleach. Did a mahogany chest years back and the bleach turned the dark wood to pine. Apologies if already been answered.

Finally truly finished off my bookcase project on the landing.

I have just dressed it and arranged ornaments amongst the books and now its gone from ghastly to gorgeous!!!!

That is truly lovely and just the sort of effect I am hoping to achieve with the things I'll be painting. Really impressive and nicely adorned too.

    :)

It's a local independant DIY store, the kind where they mix Dulux trade paints in the store. Don't know if the big chains do this.

anywhere they mix special paint colours in a machine will sooner or later sell off mistakes. Prices vary hugely from store to store though. I always look, just in case - my porch is painted a deep pinky red, and it was fairly cheap for a gallon of paint but better still had extra pigment in it , like they'd put two doses of the colour instead of one in the machine . :)

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Here's a mirror I picked up last year a car boot for a couple of pounds
    DSCF2819.jpg

And here it is with a couple of coats of chalk paint

I can't wait until the car boots start again. I am having withdrawals from painting things. I keep looking round the house at things. I am going to have to be strong and wait though.
