I don't think we have a thread yet so thought I would make one. Did a search but couldn't find one. Please let me know if there is another one!

Anyway, thought it would be nice to know who else is getting married November 2011. Are you doing a winter theme? How much have you done so far?

Me and OH have booked the venue, given the bridesmaids their money to get dresses (none matching, all I have said is 'make it blue'), almost bought all the items for the favours (more about them later!), I have designed the invitations and RSVPs, almost got my entire wedding outfit, silk flowers... yeah I think I'm organised enough to have the wedding THIS year!!! I have a lot of free time and needed a hobby so getting started on the wedding was a good idea.

I have so much to tell but would love to hear about other people's weddings too :)

  • I'm getting married in November 2011 too. You sound so organised with everything - well done!

We've got the church and reception venue booked, and currently looking at photographers. The cake is sorted as one of my sisters has just set up her own cake business, and has kindly offered to make us whatever type of cake we want as her wedding gift to us. I want to lose some weight before I start trying on dresses, so going to wait until January to start looking, and will them get the bridesmaids sorted after that. We've not thought too much about stationary yet, though my lovely sister has also offered to mock up a few cards for us once we decide on our theme, and do them for us at cost price if we want.

We're also going to a wedding fayre on Sunday, and hoping to get a few ideas from that!

  • we're getting married on the 5th nov, it was the 12th but we had to move it forward because our MOH got her dates mixed up and booked her holiday for the 11th. Its worked out for the best though cause now its on bonfire night!

Ive got the bridemiads outfits sorted, nearly all of mine done. Table decs, invites made just need to print off the inserts for them, favours, silk flowers, cake topper and cupcake stand, table cloths and im sure theres loads im missing out. Ive been planning it since january and have been picking up alot of stuff in the sales. Our theme is snowflakes and the colours are midnight/navy blue, silver and white. For our honeymoon we're getting a late deal and are asking for money as wedding gifts to go towards it.

  • It's nice to know other people are getting things organised this early too :) I figure it makes things less stressful in the long run because we won't be sitting make place cards til 5am on the wedding day lol. On of my friends was up until 3am or so, got 3 hours sleep and then up again for the wedding! I want to have a good 8 hours sleep before mine, am I the only one?!

Our theme is winter so silver, ice blue, blue in general and white. I was thinking of spray painting some twigs/branches to go on the tables as it would be cheap but quite effective. The venue provide hurricane lamps as centre pieces with a candle in each one. I'm fine with that, maybe put the twigs around it.

Also, we are putting in a little quiz into the favours. Just 'How well do you know me and fiance' sorta thing. 20 questions like how long have we been together etc. Just a bit of fun, answers will be on the back so not being read out or anything. My favours are quite, big may be the word lol. Cheap but fun :) They consist of: silver Tibetan bookmark, sample perfume/after shave, fortune cookie, dream catcher for the lades and a cone of chocolates for the men (may put in a chocolate for the ladies too), quiz + pencil, paper snowflakes... I think that's it lol. Worked out at £1 each so not too bad. All be contained in silver cups and done up with cellophane and a bow with a name card, so doubles as place cards.

Phew a Nov 2011 thread at last, couldn't find one either!

We're getting married November 2011 too either the 18th or 19th or maybe the 11th. Sounds weird we don't have a proper date but we're either nipping to the registry office the week before or getting married in Barbados before our cruise sets sail. We booked the cruise just as a holiday a few months ago then decided to get married on it - only problem being, it's fully booked for weddings. So it's arrive in Barbados, get a licence and marry. We were going to just turn up, but have found a fab Bajan wedding planner who can organise everything - we just need to get there on time to officially apply for the licence - sounds easy eh?!

I've got my dress, underskirt and shoes - only need a bouquet (artificial), headpiece of some sort and OH's outfit (he'll be kilted). Witnesses will be my sister and her OH - then a family dinner back home.

Looking forward to hearing everyone's plans!
  • Yay !! I'm a November 2011 bride too :)

November the 5th actually and before anyone says it yes I'm ending my single life with a bang !! oooh and we're not having fireworks the venue won't allow it lol those are the most common things said when I say my date.

    Missstellerstar we're wedding twins :P !!!!!

So far I've sorted ! Venue booked and some paid off it. My dress. BM dresses ordered today I've designed and made save the dates ready to go out in about 6 wks I have also designed a full invite but it's not in production yet.

We don't want traditional flowers I think but have been looking at crystal type bouquets yet to finalise, i'm seeing someone about cake next week, Photographer booked already, no cars required, need to sort venue decoration and i'd say i'm getting there just trying to find something that suits requirement and budget. I've also appointed and fired a MoH in my planning phase and currently I do not have one and am debating not having one at all

Will keep checking back to see whats happenning here congrats to all :) xx

  • Enchantica - I'm loving your idea for the table decorations - we're wanting to have hurricane lamps too, to save on flowers. We're going to have to do them ourselves as our venue doesn't do any table decor and the spray painted twigs sound such a good idea to go around them.

I realised I forgot to say I'm getting married on 12th November.

I saw a couple of nice ideas for invitations yesterday, so going to start getting my sister to see if she would be able to do what we're looking for. I've also used a free postcards offer on vistaprint to do some save the date cards, and managed to find a design that goes with our theme so might try and get more freebies from them for other stationary.

  • Swinstie - what a lovely time to look forward to, getting married in Barbados! Sounds fab and I can't wait to see photos. Even though it's still a while away... it will come around soon enough! So everyone keeps telling me lol.

Poppy - crystal bouquets are gorgeous, great idea and very wintery. You seem to have a lot sorted as well, nice to know! That's a shame about your MOH but you gotta go with whatever stresses you out the least, having one or not having one. Sounds like not having one will be better for you!

Blue - I'm 12th November too, yay we are wedding twins! I may have a look at vistaprint as I have never bought from them before, sounds like they have some good ideas.

I sent out my save the date cards today :) The 2 folk I am inviting from work were surprised that they were invited to the full day but very happy. This is my walking down the aisle music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pIhh-iVsTgE from Edward Scissorhands. Figured it would fit in with the winter theme and the lovely atmosphere of the Caves/Rowantree.

Here's pics of my venue, it's the Rowantree part rather than the Caves (Caves is the bigger version of Rowantree and more than double the price!) http://www.thecavesedinburgh.com/gallery/thecaves_gallery/

We are thinking Goo Goo Dolls - Iris for our first song but not decided properly yet. :)

Hi ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining in...
I'm getting married on the 13th Nov 2011, were having a sunday lunch reception at a beautiful beach side restaurant, not too sure where our ceremony will be yet as the place i had booked have cancelled on me - long story.
You are all so organised, I can't seem to decide on colours, flowers ect. What I do know though is that I want to walk down the ailse to 'At Last' I just love that song, but it's also a bit of a joke because it took him 12 1/2 years to propose !!!

*Have just spoken to the wedding coordinator @ venue about having the ceremony there aswell which I called her about yesterday and she didn't get back to me, she told me she hasn't looked into it yet and she's very busy and needs to prioritise!!!
  • Swinstie - My OH wanted to get hitched abroad and it took some talking to get him to agree with a good old british do'. But hearing what you're are doing makes me wish I had thought about it abit more. It sounds lovely.

Poppy - Yay! Ive always wanted a twin! I thought about having a crystal bouquet too but saw photos of brides with them and imo I dont think they stand out against the dress that well. So we've gone for the dunhelm £5 bunches, alot easier on my budget. I wouldnt worry about not having a MoH, it wont effect how your day goes or the amount of stress you will feel lol but it will make it abit cheaper for you!

Blue - Its always good to have somebody so crafty in the familly. Your sisters sounds really nice, helping you out so much! Any luck on the photographer?

Enchantica - Both the songs you've picked sound lovely. And isnt it amazing how much people charge extra for stuff where it hasnt got that more extra than the cheaper option.

aussie - Did you pay a depoist on the venue that cancelled on you? I hope they gave it all back if you did! Next to the beach would be a great place to get married so I hope they get back to you soon. And well done on getting him to pop the question at last!

OH has decide he wants to get involved in the planning alot more as he doesnt like the venue we have picked anymore. So tomorrow Im having to run him through all the things Ive done so far, whats left to do and so on. And make him see reason that we cant go spend kks on a venue when we owe his mum 6k for the deposit on our house and that where we first agreed on is best for locatin and budget. Ive told him if he really wants to help then he can start by writing down his guest list and pick his ushers like Ive been asking him to do for months lol He has until sunday to complete both :rotfl:

good luck in your palnning everyone!

  • It's great to see there's quite a few of us now getting married in Nov 2011!

Enchantica - The Caves will be a lovely venue for the wedding. Are you from Edinburgh? We're living in Edinburgh just now, but getting married in Dunfermline as both of us are originally from there, and wanted to go back to our roots! Good song choices for the venue/theme too.

Aussiemum - A beach side wedding sounds lovely. I hope you manage to get a ceremony venue organised. I can't believe how rude the coordinator was to say that to you!

Missstellarstar - No luck on the photographer yet. This is the one area where we're happy to spend a bit more, as we really want some good non-traditional photos. We're still waiting for our first choice to get back to us with a date to have a bit of a discussion, and he has hinted that we might get a bit more out of him and a package to match our needs as it's an out of season wedding. We also have second and third choices lined up if we need them. I hope you manage to get your OH sorted out! My OH got a bit panicky on Sunday after he realised just how much organisation was involved, and has said he's very happy for me to continue doing what I'm doing as I'm really organised and speaking to lots of people about things!
