    Hi there NL

I briefly didn't have internet today but my stock response to everything IT is to reboot and thank goodness it worked. I can still catch up on all the diary goings on..and finish my tax return! I have been putting that off for weeks now..as everyone on here probably knows

Very pleased about the weight and NSDs..you're doing brilliantly.

And yes please to a malaprop a day..much more fun than vitamins! And there was I thinking (Ronnie and Arnie excepted!) that the Californians led the way in brains...oh well maybe she's the exception:rotfl:

I didn't know anyone on here understood what my user name was about!!! Sure we're talking about the same person? Ani Difranco? Singer/guitarist/songwriter? She comes to britain now and then and is brilliant live.

Our vet told us we should get rid of our grumpy old lady furry purrball cat. The other 2 really wind her up. But we love her so much we just can't. She spends a lot of time in our bed. And she'll purr away there happily for days if the electric blanket is on. ;)

Food motivated in a dog is a good start. Ours would do anything for a treat. Good luck with them!

    Another lurker here:)

I have 2 small dogs, Jack Russell Terriers, one of which had a problem with weeing on the carpet in the same place. As she had previously had a bladder problem I spoke to the vet who recommended a behaviourlist and we saw her once at a cost of £80 for about an hour and a half. I live in the NE.

It was fascinating to learn so much about my 2 furballs and why they behaved in the way they did, with us and each other. We followed her instructions, but haven't managed to get them to pee on command as she did with her own dogs:eek:, but the weeing issue has not reoccurred.

I know it is a different issue to your three barking but I wanted to let you know of our positive experience with a 'dog whisperer'.

Good luck with your debt busting, I have subscribed to your diary.:)

    Hi NewLeaf :)

    I absolutely LOVE the malapropisms!

You've already had some helpful comments about the dogs barking. Hope you can sort it - it's horrible to have an atmosphere with the neighbours, particularly if you know they're right!
You could always ask for help on a dog forum, and if you do I would really recommend this one:
    http://www.champdogsforum.co.uk/

Champdogs is a website for dog breeders, and the forum is packed with breeders, behaviourists and dog experts (along of course with general members of the public looking for help) and if you post on the 'behaviour' board I'm sure someone will offer you lots of advice. I always go there to research any doggy problem I have (thankfully not many nowadays!). x

    Hi NL,

I got a collar for my sons dog. The idea being that when she's barking I can press the button (its a vibrating one not a nasty one) and it makes her stop or emits a noise. However there is a flaw to my cunning plan, as a) it doesn't work from the kitchen window as her collar isn't in view from her pen. So a lot of money spent for not much return. It did keep her away from the hens as she's attacked them before now. Good luck with yours
