as you all know I work for a huge company. Not only does this produce lots of emails for me, there are also email mailing lists that cater to the engineering group, IT group, finance etc.

I seem to have been added to one that is for engineers from India or Thailand. Apparently there isn't too much work they need to be doing because this is the thread I was treated to this morning titled "Simple Agi Ondh Love Story - Sonu Nigam Song"

Here is what they have to say, you need to read it from the bottom up. Apparently this is causing some great angst withing the group. Obviously I have removed their names

I do agree Kannada film Industry not doing well, BUT in every movieindustry there will be movies like whatever crappy being made in Kannada, butsuch won’t get release in Karnataka or won’t get people’s attention, and onething is unnecessary violence, item songs also getting more attentionsand entertained in other industries than Kannada.

Finally it’s our responsibility as viewer to watch and entertain whichever good movie comes in Industry, and bad movies just ignore or else givenegative publicity in the social media, as its being carefully observed by manyfilm personalities nowadays let them know what exactly people want/don’t want.Instead of blaming whole Kannada industry by considering single dimension view.

PS: Everybody do for money only not for Charity/So called Kannadabhimana, including me in today’s world. Forgive me if I am wrong.

Good that we are discussing amongus. The quality has deteriorated.

I feel, we should invite Sa.Ra.Govindu,K Manju and inventor of obnoxious lyrics in kannada movies Yograj Bhat inour next Rajyothasav Celebration and let them feel what we really want.

    Hi Friends,

Embrace the change and move on. ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಜಗದನಿಯಮ

Until and Unless we don’t produce any quality films in our kannadaindustry there won’t be any one to see at us. 70’s and early 80’s werethe time when Kannada Films Industry dominated the south.

The quality of film making has not at all improved as compared toother languages. Also these days most of the Actors/Directors/Producers take itgranted of Kannada audience that if the film is not having good story/impropernarration / forcibly added songs & Actions and think still peoplewill watch their film. That’s why there is mad rush to other language films. Also Producers & Distributors are not ready to expand the reach on Kannadafilms beyond the boundaries. If you see major movies of theHindi/Telugu/Tamil are released near to 1000+ screens and our kannada filmshardly touch 150. These other language films will be released in more than 150theaters in Karnataka alone J

    Thank You,

    Regards,

    Nice point Vijay and Bhaskar!

The same fraternity claim to safeguard "Kannada" Culture. I ambaffled with their argument, with such a practice in place. If their movieswere so influential and kannadigas were to follow, then every street in KAwould had children named loose mada, mentlu manja, and they would be playingwith long-u / macchu toys :)

What these musicians do is for the tracksong, they take kannada singers and settle their dues immediately after theirsinging, when the same song is added into the movie, singers like sonu nigam orShreya Ghoshal would have sung and the producer would have paid hefty amount toget their voice. Our own singers will get pittance.

I remember an instance, once Sonu Nigamwho was abroad was supposed to come to Bangalore for a song recording. When asked when he is coming, he bluntly told the musician to send him the tunein the CD, he will sing and record the song and send it back in a CD and youcan insert the voice accordingly.

I have not heard of Kunal Ganjawalasinging in Hindi movies, but he is regular in kannada movies.

    Long live Kannada film industry.

  • Morning NL,

I havent been around for a few days , sorry. I am not going to mention THEM, I am having a day off from THEM !

Some of the heartfelt posts, from you, Dot and Princess could have been written by me ten times over. Princess would love to know how yesterday went, thats a very brave move. I know you pop up all over the place so hopefully we will hear what they said when you broke the news on a diary somewhere.

I havent time to read the emails above at the moment, but they look interesting ! I will drop by later hopefully for a proper read where I can take it all in rather than skimming through.

Think happy thoughts NL , you are doing amazingly x
