  • Hi New Leaf!
I'd just like to say hi and i've read a lot of your posts in your diary and its very inspiring!
I read your old diary before and was sorry to see you go - although ive come and gone way more times than you! :D

I too was a lurker for a long time and whilst i don't have the same level of income as you and your partner, i do earn very well for a single mum and wasn't sure if i could go through with starting a diary on the board! I'm really hoping i can get everything gone this year so that i start 2014 in a position to really overpay my mortgage but before that, getting a bit of a cushion behind me for emergencies.. Jobs can go so easily these days!

So thank you for the nudge i needed :T

  • Hi Newleaf
Another long time lurker coming out of the woodwork :)
Your last post has really struck a chord with me. I am not a high earner but I consider myself to be on a good salary for someone of my age and education. I have worked bloody hard for it. However like you i am stressed and it just gets piled on, more work, more people etc. It makes me ill and bad tempered with the people I love and for the past year I have been a shadow of my former self, somewhere along the lines I have lost sight of myself and the things that matter as all of my time is taken up with work. I have taken the brave (or stupid) step of handing my notice in tomorrow  I will work with my partner for a few months whilst I consider my options. Money will be v tight but happiness plentiful (i hope!!)

I really wish you well with your 10 year plan, perhaps you could even cut that down as the debt free date becomes closer.

I also wish you success with your fight with THEM!!!

Ill still be reading but probably wont post that often.

Blimey New Leaf your post could have been written by me.

I am determined to make 2013 the year I make time for me and mine. I will not remained consumed by work.

Regarding car, if you need one for work get them to hire one for you! I had a similar situation, 20 year old jalopy or 2 seater sports car .... Similar comments so just said "hire me one" safer on insurance too!

Ok still only 1 flea bay bid but lots of watchers on the other stuff. If it all goes for the minimum that will be another £150 to "them"

How did it go with THEM and your accountant?

    Remember, it's your responsibility.
Fred - Where's your get up and go?

Barney - It just got up and went.
