derektrophy wrote:thanks Chris. Valid question. One console and one letter of complaint at a time. If I can help improve the way C/S treat ALL customers, this would be a victory alone. (but i doubt it will). You made me think, and therefore I promise to give any extra consoles away eg to hospitals or hostels for homeless. It will be a condition that they allow me to write on their behalf to H/O. You see, once the item is given away, I transfer with it all my legal rights if it became faulty and too the warranty and any legal redress of any breach of the law by said shop. ie overcharge.
I encourage you all to prepare a legally worded letter of your own outlining to Tesco H/O of your appaling treatment and how upset you are, and so nearly phoned the newspaper about it all, but alas you wrote to them, to give them a chance of settling it all amicably and with an apology.
And if not , a second letter about Court. and if no response, a 3rd letter reminding them of T/S and that you WILL issue summons in 7 days unless they settle your claim before. Hope that helps.
No worries, I wasnt picking holes, Its just that your post kinda made it sound like you could go and fill up on overcharged Xboxes+GOTWs and you would get the lot refunded if you write a letter threatening legal action (or at least thats how it sounded to me)
Just thought it needed clarifying before any newbies reading the thread went and got three or four Xboxes expecting to get them all R&Rd
Totally agree with your approach though, just bypassing the CS dragons (ok not all of them are dragons - some are just idiots) seems like a good approach but obviously only for those who can afford to have the money tied up for the time it takes to get it sorted in writing.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

Odd, one of my mates works there, tomorrow he gets paid!

Georgiac said : Personally if I were Tesco I would settle, pay you the cost of the machine and expenses and ban you. That way you're stopped from r&r'ing in the future.
Having a ban is not a nice experience and most inconvenient. The feeling of being watched, my photos taken, asked to leave the store, or thot of as a criminal is intimidating and no one should have to bear that whilst enjoying shopping at a shop we know the layout of, used for years,
If anyone needs help with there legal letter to H/O, just PM me. !0 -
Has anyone had any success with HO re refund today yet?0

Everytime a shopper enters Tesco they are being watched, there is a gorilla in a suit at the door, cctv cameras everywhere. Lots of us have been followed around a store and lead the gurad a merry dance.
It's part of the fun of r&r.
As for being asked to leave unless you have a sign on your head that says "I'm banned - Evict me" I'm pretty sure that if you shopped at different Tesco stores without r&r'ing there wouldn't be a problem. It just covers the store if you decide to contact HO who will have your details on file. I doubt Phil and your photos will be up at the door of every shop.
But hey, let's be honest how many of u swould still shop at Tesco without r&r!
Good luck with your quest, take 'em to the cleaners.0 -

MOO HA HA HA! (that's supposed to be an evil laugh, but every time I read it back it makes me think of a cow!)
Afraid not, we don't get paid til Friday, and just so you know Tesco don't tend to ever have any offers that finish on friday/saturday. Offers usually finish on tuesday with new offers on wednesdayTitch0 -
