Just a quick follow up to my ordeal on Friday. Called CS in Dundee on Saturday morning 9am, advised to call HO. Called HO (after finding out they didn't open till 10am) "OK" says guy on the phone "I'll put you through". He then put me through to CS in Dundee!
Anyway, fellow in Dundee was very helpful and disgusted at my treatment. Advised me to e-mail my story to them in Dundee marked "Urgent" and said that when this was read I'd get a phone call on Monday morning. Did this and also e-mailed it to Sir Terry for good measure.
Keep you posted, refund or not, I want to see this guy get his @ss chewed off0 -
give it up now please0

This thread should simply be a discussion about r&r, it's gone way over most people's heads with contracual law debating and individual baiting.
Georgiac, the thing with Tesco is that the stores are trying EVERY trick in the book to avoid giving an R&R when they have committed an offence under the CPA. This is why it is important for people to understand exactly where they stand in relation to products they've been overcharged on. Although it's boring, the legal aspect is important here, as it is likely that Tesco will try to avoid paying up by spouting off absolute BS about the Law and your rights as a consumer. One poster yesterday was told that due to having an R&R on an xbox, Tesco no longer provides her with a warranty for that product. She/he was told that if the thing was faulty, she/he would have to contact the manufacturer instead. This is completely untrue from a legal point of view, as R&R does not affect your statutory rights.
That is just one case highlighted where Tesco has been untruthful about the legal side of things. On this thread, we are able to correct such untruths given by Tesco. It may be boring for those who haven't had it happen to them. However, if it does happen, the information is there for all to read and use.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

Exactly, there's no such thing as bad information, just information you might not need right now :beer:0 -
Hi M.U.N.T
I totally agree that Tesco act in a pretty underhand and downright wrong way an awful lot of the time when it comes to r&r, I've experienced some of the worst Managers and decisions imaginable, thankfully the outcome has always been favourable in the end.
What I'm concerned by is the way people come to this thread specifically to goad a response which as we've seen 4 times in the last three weeks results in us losing the privilege of the tread.
I appreciate what you, Ben and lots of others have achieved on here, I've quoted laws I didn't know existed, but repeating the same things ad infinitum( not suggesting you or anyone in particular) wears most of us down.
I agree with wlfc, the console fiasco must surely be on it's last legs, I for one can't wait to return to the days of searching for scraps - well sirloin, fillet and legs of lamb.
Things will calm down and normal service will resume and I won't have to keep Kevin Kelly's direct number on my speed dial!0 -
The problem is there is TOO much action i.e. too many posts for the mods to monitor, and readers to keep up with.
By the way. I do not personally object to posters listing their 'haul' of R&R's (Mcdonag is still my hero) but I was TRYING to point out that Tesco see all this.
If you post on here that you've just grabbed your third bundle this week from Milton Keynes,
and you phoned up KK at HO at 11am this morning for him to sort it out, as its clearly a rock solid R&R,
and he promised to phone you back at 2.30.
It was a DS lite, and the game was "Don't I look nice"
and the manager called David photocopied the poster for me,
and the cs woman ( who had a blue rinse) said "you're the second today..."
and they said it was the last one they had in stock,
and the Red haired security man took my car reg.....eh well they might twig on the connection and refuse to play ball.
Yes it is all very entertaining to read, but for YOUR OWN benefit, maybe keep the details to the bare minimum, at least until you have your R&R.
Just my PERSONAL opinion
P.S I've checked out the new ethics thread - yes I agree this would help THIS thread keep on topic0 -

The problem is that the mods keep closing the thread when they get to 10pages or so long. Thus people only see the new thread/only read the info in there so all the old knowledge is lost. :<
Thats partly why all the 'new' people keep asking "what, how, why?" - even if they start at post 1 it doesn't make much sense, because in reality post 1 is post 23,000 or something. It's like starting to read a book from chapter 6.ॐ Signature Removed by Someones Mum. ॐ0 -

Except like I said, I onyl joined on thread 9 and I reckon I've gotten my head around it okay....0
