When I was a price controller at Sainsbury's the tills used to update at roughly 3am. I can remember having to go in during the Millenium celebrations to make sure all the computers had not crashed and the price changes had gone through. We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

Yes, with Tesco it's at around the same time. Yet many stores seem to change the posters/SELs at their leisure throughout the following day (or week, or month, in the case of some stores).
Trust me guys - for the console offers, the solid gold "window of opportunity" is the first moment the store opens its doors on Friday morning, or at about 7am if it's a 24 hour store.0 -
Just wondering if anyones local stores have put their posters back up since the glitch has been fixed?
Went to about 6 different Tescos last saturday and everyone of them had the posters turned over or removed. Haven't been able to go back since to see if they've been replaced, will hopefully get to go to a couple tomorrow am.0 -

The reason I asked was in my local store (Tesco eastville bristol) all the promotion posters/adverts/sel was nowhere to be seen, so i assumed they had finished with it?0 -
Welcome back eveyone :j thought we'd lost this thread for good.
I don't think there will be any posters left up tomorrow because there isn't any there in the first place, not in my stores anyway. one way of making sure they don't have any mis prices :rolleyes:Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves0 -

They were take down because the posters had 'Just Cause' as GOTW, but it wasn't the GOTW - The Godfather was. The glitch was fixed a couple of days ago though so some stores might have put their posters back up now.
The yellow SEL has an expiry of 29/09 so I have a feeling that the promo comes to an end tomorrow and there won't be a new GOTW.0 -
I've seen 2 stores that today still had posters for £20 off Xbox + GOTW (Just Cause) and £10 off PSP + GOTW (Tekken). The earlier problems have been ironed out so these discounts are coming off at this moment in time (except for the fact that it's only on a PSP Giga Pack and the poster doesn't make this clear - definite grounds for an R+R if you buy the white or black Value Pack instead). Therefore all stores should have put these posters back up over the last couple of days, although with Tesco being Tesco many stores haven't.
If any of these are still on display tomorrow morning, it's wham bam thank you mam.
Basically we're back to the old scenario of the new Game Of The Week kicking in during the early hours of Friday, but stores (hopefully) not changing their posters quickly enough.R&C wrote:They were take down because the posters had 'Just Cause' as GOTW, but it wasn't the GOTW - The Godfather was.
That's absolutely right, but just to clarify for people that aren't sure, they changed the till system to make Just Cause GOTW, rather than changing the poster to say The Godfather was GOTW. While they were updating the tills they instructed all stores to remove/cover up their posters, but once it was fixed the stores were told to display them again.
So any posters still on display tomorrow with Just Cause as GOTW should result in no discount coming off and hence a nice juicy R+R.0
