  • not sure where to post this cause it's not really a misprice nor is it a freebie, but it's hot so grab it while you can!!!

tesco have shelled walnuts, loose, no SEL, also the info about the actual price of these has not been updated to their systems so basically anyone buying loose shelled walnuts tonight gets them free!!!! i even got the manager to go back and fill me a 'complimentary bag' how great is that!!!!!:j :j :j
Everything in life is a paradox. The more you want approval, the more you become a person that other people don't want to approve of, the less you care about whether you get approval, the more you get.:A

I posted a query similar to this (expired SELs) a couple of days ago but I think it sunk under other topics.
What I'd like to ask is how best to deal with this type of refusal from CS. As everyone knows a yellow SEL has the following info on it.

    1. Original price crossed out (in a tiny font)
    2. Statement 'offer expires xx/xx/xx (in a really, really tiny font)
    3. Offer price ( In a very big font)

I'd expect the CS to argue that, in effect the SEL says that after the expiry date the offer price expires and the old price (shown on the ticket, even tho it's crossed out) comes back into force.

    What's the best comeback?

Tell them you don't wear your reading glasses while out shopping.....Customers aren't supposed to read the small print.....and a lot won't be able to

The lowest price they display....is the highest price they must sell at
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

Recently, the CSAs I've dealt with haven't even bothered to check the SELs on the items I've been overcharged on. They just give me my money back. Weird, eh?

Not wierd, but design. I'm sure you've seen one of those little jewellery boxes where when you open the lid the music plays and the little ballerina pirouettes for you?

For instance how would you feel if you missed out on a BOGOF offer because the label had been changed to avoid an overcharge the following day?

My local are always doing this on fresh goods  Several times I've been down there on a Tuesday to find all the signs down and new stock moved into place in readiness for the following day (no advance promotion signs up though!)

Ben, you're being too subtle for me, especially at this time of night. Do you mean that everybody has had a rocket and that now Tesco are insisting that refunds are played strictly by the book?

I wouldn't go so far as to say everybody has "had a rocket" but I would certainly agree with the latter part of your statement.

It's almost the perfect analogy IMO (high praise from me as I genuinely don't think there is such a concept as perfect, in fact I got very annoyed when I saw Nadia Comaneci get those 10s in the Olympics all those years ago)
I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!

Not far off the truth actually. I'm short sighted and need specs for distances not for close up, but I'm too tight to buy bi-focals. So with my specs on I can read the bigger fonts but have to take them off to read the small fonts.
But then I bump into things.:(
Seriousy - thanks for the end bit, off to T tomorrow - much more confident
