Dont quite understand this - if the yellow sel has expired then surely one would expect to be charged at the pre-'yellow sel' price. So if the till updates how can it be classified as an 'overcharge.

    Can someone clarify this

The yellow SEL is still offering 2 for £5, but has expired, the new price is £6 and you are charged £6 for 2 not £5
it's not your fault that THEY DIDN'T REMOVE the expired SEL that enticed you into the offer, FULL R&R.

.... me 'finks' it's because the law states that you have to sell at the lowest advertised price ;)

When the yellow sel expires does the till auto-update the price (to the pre-yellow sel amount). If not then surely its a big gamble to bank on a disparity in the prices.

It seems a waste of time to keep asking the same question over & over.

True, if u can find a scaner that works, that helps, if not, take a chance, u can always take back for a refund latr if the discount does come off

..... staff put the yellow sel's into 'situ' ... maybe the BIG gamble is expecting them to remove them when the offer has expired :rotfl: :rotfl:

Not always, that's the fun part! To start with (if you are a newbie) I would go by tips you see posted on the misprices thread, at least you know another customer has tried them out!

A little later on in your R&R career you can sense a misprice at 40 paces...:rotfl:

    Hi Couponmad,

Raises a good question : Unless you can remember the pre yellow sel price, whatare the chances of the new white sel being higher than the prvious one ?

Does that make any sense ?

Thinking the yellow sels are a warning that the normal price is about to go up and the yelow are just to cause some confusion.

Naaah, must be me, T will have it under control and spot on as ever.

Yeah, it's as clear as mud innit? What I don't get is why Mr T mucks around with prices so excessively, so often. Such as Andrex bogroll which was £1.82 then was trumpeted(!) on a yellow SEL as reduced to...£1.81!!!! Wow!!

Classic example, this now scans at £1.82 I think so you can get free bogroll if you can find a store that has left the old yellow SEL up. Most probably we can!

What's the point of 1p reductions? Think of the cost of printing new SELS, reprogramming the tills, having someone put up & change the SEL, having someone forgetting to do that, then having to R&R the full price in fairly huge quantities when the tills whack it back up to the old price.

Not saying this example can be found folks, but it may be in a store near you...:rotfl:

Saw that 1p off offer and couldn't be ar$ed with it (4give the low level toilet pun), was way to busy looking for a new phone :)

Think they mess with the prices as the suppliers prices and transport costs go up and down, we don't get much of the down but always get the up.

Bog standard practise (jeez i'm in the toilet again).
Sound familiar ? Reminds me of banks and interest rates.
