Expired Tesco vouchers

Sorry if this isn't the right section - wasn't sure where else to post it!!

Basically, we ordered about £600 worth of deals vouchers a while ago but only used £500 of them so we had a £100 voucher left over. I've just found the voucher in my documents folder while hunting for something else and noticed it has an expiry date of 31st March 2006 on it! :(

I've phoned Tesco and they told me to send it back using special delivery and they might or might not re-credit it to my clubcard points account (she couldn't make any promises) so I was just wondering, has anyone else ever sent back an expired voucher and had the money credited back??

Obviously there's no harm in trying so I'm still going to send it back with a very apologetic covering letter but I just thought I'd ask on here if anyone else has had any success.

Have never tried it but you have nothing to loose. Just grovel, grovel, grovel.

You never know they may even give you more!

    Good luck.

I've heard people before stating that it has been done for them :-)
  • I have returned my actual CLubcard voucher that had expired months before and they credited it back to my account. although it might be different if you already converted it into a specific voucher. fingers crossed for you.

I have some experience of using out of date clubard vouchers but not ones that have been converted so the same may not apply. A few weeks ago I sent off some vouchers, most of which were out of date. Tesco phoned me and told me that if the vouchers were up to a year old, it was up to their team leader's discretion whether to accept them. If they were over two years old, they send them back to their Head Office, where they are re-credited to customers accounts.
  • Sorry - I should've updated this!

I sent them back as requested along with a covering letter and received a letter back saying the equivalent number of clubcard points would be credited back to my clubcard account. :) Result!!

I'm sure that there was some info regarding this on http://www.captainconsumer.co.uk/news/clubcard.htm. Anyone else needing help on this matter could try this for clarification.

    help,

i traded in my clubcard vouchers for some deals on meals at bella italia and beamish museum some months ago. however, i have come to look at them today to use over the next few weeks and have found they expired on 3l.5.06. i am sure i only got them about feb/march. i was wondering whether to ring tesco and say i never received them or to admit what has happened. any ideas as they are both for £25 and i am really annoyed with myself. i thought they were valid for 2 years after issue.

    any advice would be appreciated

    thanks, tracey

I've had this before and if you ring up tesco they will replace and send you new one's of your choice.
I was certainly told this wasn't a problem when I rang and asked.
Just give them a call and see.
I've ordered some that need replacing for a different deal now and have got to send them back.
The only time they can't help is if you lose them altogether.
    Hope this helps
    xx
