My gas costs £30 a month so I won't be putting the rads on until I'm shivering. The longer I can leave it, the better.

At the moment though, I'm still wearing flip flops nd a tshirt. It's not cold yet.

Although I'll admit, it is nice to have a towel that's been warmed up on the radiator when I have a shower at 0630.

  • Ours went on an hour ago - I can't stand being cold but I was slumming it in my dressing gown... hubby cracked. He does, however work for our energy supplier so at least we're just giving them their own money back I guess :D It'll be on for a night or so just to whack the temperature back up a little bit.

I am refusing to turn it on until Oct and if possible hold out until Nov as jumpers will suffice until then. Although Dad is coming over from Spain early Oct to babysit for a few days while I go away, so he may need it on then!
  • Mine is NOT going on until November!!

I usually have it on between Nov and Mar. With last winter being soooooo cold I noticed a massive change in my gas bill when I checked my usage chart. I think its going to be another rough winter (Im in Scotland!!) so need to keep it off for as late as I can.

I have plenty of jumpers and fleecy blankets at the ready. It's been ok here, temperature wise at the moment. Hope it continues.....
  • Ours has been on over the last few days for an odd hour or so, but mainly to dry clothes as I have run out of spaces to hang damp washing,
we are still sat here in t-shirts and are not feeling cold yet !!!!

  • Yes. About 5 minutes ago! I have Raynauds, so getting cold is very miserable.

Not here - I am sat in sandals and T shirt and i'm in Yorkshire. I try and hold out as far as possible in to Oct as I can, and then try to stop using by March. I have a conservatory which catches a lot of sun in the mornings, and so if a bit chilly then I got and sit in there. Extra jumper/fleece blanket before I switch the heating on i'm afraid!
