Just wondered if anyone has put the heating on in their home yet? Temp in car this morning was reading at 10 deg C, and house was really cold but I just cant bring myself to switch on the heating as it is still only September. How cold does it have to be before everyone else gives in?!

God No! Won't even consider it until the 1st of November and then by March 1st it will be off.0

I am too scared of the new central heating controls to change them. However the heating only goes on during the morning and evening if the temperature goes below 19 degrees on the landing and if it falls below 7 degrees at night, and neither have happened yet.
I wish I wasn't quite so scared of the heating controls, however, as sometimes I would like an hour's boost to just air the house.Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
Nope
Mine generally goes on any time it is cold enough after 1st October and not before, and it goes off again, about 25 April.......
If you are cold in my house at other times, you put another jumper or what ever on............Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

It was bloody baltic in my house this morning! Came straight down and put the heating on.

My OH keeps switching the heating on everytime he feels a little chill. Last night he had the patio doors wide open, no jumper on and the heating at 25 degree's. I can safely say that I switched off the heating, handed him a jumper and he will be kicked into touch (my heating bill last year was horrendous!)
My heating will probably go on about October but my LO s only 15 months and he seems to just lose heat rapidly. Stocked up on plently of cosy jammies and fleeces though!Make £10 a day challenge (August) - £175/£3100 -
No! I'm hoping to hold out until November - didn't quite manage to do that last year, though. Never have heating on in the morning. Really mean with it - rather go on holiday with my money!0

I'm still wearing t shirts and we're in Yorkshire. Ours usually goes on 1st October.0

God no! not yet!!
though i know my mums already put hers on.. she caved in after my brother winged0 -
Our house thermostat is set to 16/17 degrees. When it's colder than that in the house it switches on automatically from 4.00pm to 8.00am the following morning. During the day either I'm out or I put more jumpers on.
It hasn't switched itself on yet (thankfully)..... I can do without the bills.

Agreed Gemmy - not for a month or more yet.
But if your bro 'winged', he's flown the nest and your maman need not have caved in.;)
If he 'whinged', that's why she unfortunately did.
Typo's rule, so often.:)
