Huge numbers of outsiders in Norfolk. I've been here since 1973 - the natives were not particularly friendly back then, but we've got 'em outnumbered now.

    Diss is a lovely spot.

Lol mufi I don't think it can be just as bad as where we are living! We are so looking forward to it. Going to be visting quite a bit over the next few months.
  • Just in case any turkeys are reading: do NOT move to Norfolk; it could be hazardous to your health.

No but my MIL lives in Taverham and we are about to exchange on our home there too. We looked at Queens Hill because the house sizes are large for the price tag, however once you get under the surface the why's of this become clear.

The Queens Hill development truly is pack them in as much as you can. We looked at a 5 bed town house for £230,000 - lovely house, very large, but it looked out on to a square concrete patch with 30 houses around it.

The social housing element is high and seems to be concentrated around the only road in and out of the development. This causes the issue that the social housing did not figure in enough off road parking due to the cost, so people park on both sides of the road - again THERE IS ONLY ONE ROAD IN AND OUT!

Lastly, in case I forgot to mention that this development of >2,000 houses that has only one road in and out, my friend is a driving instructor and has told me some people refuse to do rush hour lessons on the estate due to the fact it becomes gridlocked at that time. The roundabout out exists onto the A11 and is an absolute nightmare to get out of.

If I were you, look elsewhere as after 2 years of gridlock driving just to get to a dual carriageway, you'll wish you never purchased it in the first place (hence the massive turnover of housing there you will see now!)

And we won't mention the drains.
  • I don't know anything about the drains - pray tell.

I gather the builders weren't too fussed about building them properly.

Oh yeah and this after a little search - this is the 10th time it has happened. That is the main (and only, did I mention only one in and out) road to the development!

Hmm. Turns out we would more than likely need a 15% deposit for a house there and we have 11%!

The bovis homes one we were looking at was lovely though, very spacious and reasonably priced!

At some point they will have to sort the access issue there (I would have thought before the NDR is due to be completed too!)
