Just to keep you all informed. My mum has an appointment with her bank tomorrow. She's said she's going to go for whatever they offer her so long as it means they won't tell my dad. She's also said she won't admit to all the other credit cards that they don't know about. What can I do but despair! I'm distancing myself from this because the worry is making me feel ill. Just shows you the depths to which debt can make you go.

Huge hugs. My heart goes out to you. The position that you find yourself in through no fault of your own is totally awful. Its like that old saying about you can lead a horse to water but you cant make it drink- you have done EVERYTHING that it is possible for you to do, you are being amazingly strong and clearing your own debt whilst worring about your mum. All you can do is exactly what you are doing. Put some distance from the actual problem, take care of yourself and be there if and when the s**t hits the fan. BUT..... you are amazing and have done EVERYTHING that you could have done. Huge love, hugs and respect. AnnieXXX

Please read through any agreement that your mum signs with the bank. If they have 'fleeced' her, point this out - also point out that she has a certain 'cooling off' period, in any credit agreement, and she is perfectly entitled to use this.

Thanks annie and rog. Well, she was in there for an an hour and a half and she's told me that it's just the bank want to review everyone's bank account and that's she's fine. Yeah right! I don't believe her for a minute i'm afraid but I can't make her talk to me. You're right, Annie, i've done everything i can and i'm going to concentrate on me and my family now. I'm getting rid of this last bit of debt we've got and then i'll breathe a sigh of relief and never get in this mess again thanks to this board. Thanks again xx
