  • Hiya

I shocked myself yesterday when I was trying something on in Primark. I don't have a full length mirror in my bedroom, so I'm not used to seeing myself undressed, and a close up of what I look like now came as a bit of a blow.

Until I gave up smoking in April I was a petite size 8. I don't know what I weighed because I didn't own any scales. I ate chocolate & other sweet stuff to beat the cravings and I now have a laughably tiny amount of clothes I can wear because none of my previous outfits fit me. Even the bigger clothes I bought as a 'stop gap' are too tight now.

So, that's me well and truly motivated!! I've started with exercise this morning - I bought David Kirsch's 'ultimate boot camp' DVD before Christmas, but this was the first time I tried it (OMG - I had to miss out a good part of it as I'm SO unfit). I'm going to buy his book tomorrow as I liked his exercise routine and I think I'll like his diet plan. It's not very MSE as I'm sure one of the diet books I already own would work, I just feel like I need the boost.

    My method will be:

    Exercise on alternate mornings
Follow the David Kirsch diet plan
Drink a glass of water mid morning & mid afternoon
Go for a brisk 15 minute walk during my lunch break (unless it's pouring with rain)

    I will weigh in each Sunday & I'm hoping for a steady 2lb a week loss....fingers crossed :)

May I suggest that you increase your water intake to 2 litres per day. At first yes, you do use the loo a bit more often but gradually your body gets used to it. For some reason it seemed to work with me (help me lose weight).

Don't forget that the body takes about two weeks to show a result so being good this week may not show for a couple of weeks on the scales (and vice versa).

    Good luck

rpoints is a cashback site... if you go to the referrers board, there is an MSE rpoints link at the top of the forum

    weigh-in is every sunday.

would have started a new thread but there is already a weight challenge thread on the forums. i wanted something just for those doing the olympic challenge so posted in here as this was lying dormant.

    Thanks for the reply.

Well everything was going well until I went to the pub and 'accidentally' got lashed! Oh well I will not berate myself. Instead I carried on today as normal and am back on my 18 points a day limit. I did do lots of dancing last night though so hopefully that will have burnt off some of the alcohol! Am really still super determined though - I WILL lose two stones.

Roll on Wednesday for my weigh-in!

Thanks Aunty Jean, you inspired me to go buy a water filter jug today and have been drinking water all day since.

Never really liked tap water before and wouldn't pay for bottled water (too tight for that!!!!), but filtered does seem better, whether it really is or not who knows. And in true MSE fashion I used my points on my boots card to buy it so it didn't cost a penny.

Good Luck everyone with your weigh ins, mines tomorrow but I don't hold out much hope as I didn't get out walking much this week. Better luck next week!

Hi can I join this too? I was planning on losing 2 stone by Christmas but why not do it by July? Good thing is that with all the hunting around for stuff to sell and looking for more work, I won't have time to eat!!!!

    My plan is
    1. To eat a proper breakfast
    2. To drink A LOT more water
    3. NOT to buy biscuits when I go to the shop. I can cope with not having biscuits in the house when there are none, I just can't leave them alone when there ARE some in the house!
    4. Persuade OH not to buy me sweeties when he's out
    5. To find something non-fattening to snack on if I HAVE to snack
    6. To take the dog for a walk at least three times a week

Off to update my sig now, then I have to get to work, I'm late
