Hey all
I am registered for the Olympic challenge and would also like to join in the weight loss challenge. I joined Weight Watchers on Wednesday so have been going strong for 2 days - hee hee!!! Need to lose 2 stone ideally although I am breaking it down into four half a stone targets.
Good luck all fat busters!
Annie

well we all know what we're here for
my target is to lose 2 stones... gonna try this thing without any diet clubs. i talked to a colleague of mine during our work xmas party about it... he lost 5 stones in the space of six months and is starting up a website on how to help people. he gave some pointers to me and well... i haven't used them yet cos i just don't have the motivation to do it but it's a new year... a new job... and hopefully a new me so i'm gonna go for it.
first pointer was to do 10 press-ups the second you get out of bed (25 for me because apparently 10 would be too easy for me). next is to make sure you have breakfast (something i never usually do) and to include some sort of orange in it (contains a chemical which breaks down fat). i've been told not to worry about my diet but to make sure i eat an orange at least 5 minutes before a meal. also include at least a 30 minute brisk walk as part of your daily routine.
he told me to give him a call to discuss a plan so i'll do that tomorrow.
it's 00.30 and i'm fairly tired so please excuse me if none of that made sense to you...
how about we start this on the 7th january as well and try to hit our goals by the 7th july (the sooner the better of course)? i guess it kinda depends on how much you're planning to lose but my 2 stone target in the space of 6 months does sound quite achievable.
another idea... how about everyone takes a photo of themselves now (no need to post it) and also another after they've reached their target. see how much of a difference it all makes.A Monkey is for life, not just for Xmas!

Can I join you all here too. I want to lose 2 stone for our holiday in June, I have lost my xmas weight already, I put on 7lb in 3 days
I am not joining any weightloss clubs as I can't afford it to be honest, but I know the weightwatchers diet off by heart and I have also found a free website that calculates the amount of calories you eat in a day - kind of like an online food diary, not sure if I am allowed to post link, I am happyto PM anyone with it
I purchased two Nell McAndrew exercise DVD's over xmas for a good price and boy they are hard work! so I will try to do these at least 3 - 4 days a week.
I will be updating my weightloss on a Wednesday.2007 Olympic Challange - Going for Bronze - Total so far: £98.250 -
Well I really have an uphill struggle on my hands (quite a few stone to lose - will tell you all one day) and need all the support I can get!!!
I would love to lose 1/2 a month so my challenge is to lose 3 stone (then continue with regular weight loss until I'm at target weight)by 7th July. My first target is my first stone.
I will be joining SW(next tuesday) as I feel the support they give is good for me - I too have bought an exercise DVD (Davina- she is so funny!) and joined a swimming club which I can access 4 times a week if I want - my aim is to exercise every day whether it be swimming or DVD or walking the dog. I'm afraid I'm either in it or not if you know what I mean - all in or not at all. I have to give it the big effort as I have so much to lose. I lack motivation as I get into a diet and usually fail quite quickly so my aim here is well - not to fail. I was successfull in giving up smoking, I have continued with my studies and not given up so why can't I stick to the bl@@dy diet.
Ok rant over with - please say you will be there for me if I need you which will be often!

I would love to join in too, might help to keep me motivated. Am having a weekly weigh in with my neighbour had our 1st on Monday so will be updating on a Monday.
I too want to loose 2 stone by June for our holiday. I am doing weightwatchers but won't be going to the meetings etc, have the books and have done it before (several times!!!!) so will just do it myself.
Anyway can't afford to pay someone just to weigh me and tell me how naughty I've been.
Haven't done any excercise this week yet, but am going for a good long walk this evening with my neighbour, usually when we walk its 1½ hours of quite fast walking so should help to burn some flab!!!!
I like the photo idea, must do that today.
Good luck everyone, we CAN do this. :jDebt at highest May 04 - £65,639.22 - Started DMP with CCCS 1st June 04 & now self managed DMPDebt now 20th December 2015 £31677.13 Paid Off to date £33962.09 - just not going quickly enough!
Debt free date July 2024! I don't think so, it'll be going quicker than that!!!

Hi
Can I join in, too? I've joined the other olympic challenge. I need to lose a bit under 2 stones. I'm not going to join a club.
I put on the weight when I stopped smoking last April. I bought a couple of diet books towards the end of summer when I felt that feeding chocolate to the cigarette cravings had gone on long enough! Strangely enough, just reading them and then burying them at the bottom of a pile of books doesn't take any weight off at all!!
So, my first challenge is to dig out those books and plan a diet over the weekend...
Are any of you planning on exercising as part of the plan?
This is such a great idea - thanks Annie & BangraMonkey :T
