  • Someone said to me yesterday that a couple of conkers in a room will keep the multilegged creatures away. Has anyone tried this before I wander up the road to pick some?

Cats work - no "multi-legged" one survives in this house long! (and I don't even mind them)

Wish they'd so something for the "slimy shelled" ones outside tho':(

Haha, mine don't! The daft things sit there watching the spiders until they've disappeared. :rotfl:

William-cat devoured a slug the other night (I [STRIKE]was[/STRIKE] am still horrified) but I don't think he could manage the shelled variety.

I dont think its very good for the four legged friends to eat slugs and snails (not to mention the puppy dog tails) - I cant remember if its a potential danger from slug poison or if they are just nasty as they are - (obviously we are not talking gourment french).
My young dog will kill spiders if she can get at them but those above head height send us all into a frenzy of fear and hoover scrabbling......
I do hope my efforts with 'No More Spiders' around all the doors and window frames that have been open today work - but Im taking the hoover to bed with me just in case tonight.
What a great day its been here - Im sorry I have sounded a bit manic today but I think I have finally found an answer (medication wise) to the pain in my head/face - I have had 4 pain free days and feel like a loon Im so thrilled!!!!
debt free 2021 at current DMP rate[/COLOR] (probably be in an old peoples home by then)

I wonder who was the first person to look at a snail slithering along leaving a slimy trail and think to themselves "yummy"? :rotfl:

Oh my, I wouldn't want them to actually eat them - I'm with notjustlaura - I'd be HORRIFIED!

The multi-legged ones aren't devoured either ... just strategically placed throughout the house!;)

    Evening.

Pay day is tomorrow so I can start again with my Winter prep.

    My list for Friday/Sunday

Costco visit - stock up on meat, washing powder, tea bags, hot choccie etc. Will see what veg they have too and may buy some to freeze

Dunhelm visit - just because its next to Costco (haha) and I want some flannellette sheets.

Set up direct debit for credit card - don't want any late payment charges due to bad weather.

Order the LO's last bit of Christmas presents and heatd throw from Amazon (then just stocking fillers to go)

    Buy hats, gloves and scarves.

Today our weather was aound 21c, very overcast and muggy though. Got 3 loads of washing out (mainly towels yay) and im hoping its dry. I was brave as there was spiders on the whirly gig but i still hung it out. HOWEVER theres a freaking huge one on one of my towels so the OH can bring the washing in when he finishes work!!!

Christmas party dress bought and received (£4 from ebay!!)

One of my cats had that many years ago. I took her to the vet and he said her xray looked like cancer:eek: and it was time to say goodbye to her.
Being a stubborn so and so I asked for a second opinion so he sent away the xray with a swab. Poor man, he was so embarrassed and apologetic when he told me it was lungworm. Cat was treated and lived for many many years after. Apparently the xrays look very similar.
