Oh if only someone would invent a robot to wash dogs Id be first in the queue!!!! Its not something I enjoy anymore than the dogs - we all end up sopping wet an shivering , but no I will resist the temtation to put them in with my smalls (even tho they are small ---- oh the humour is deteriorating - better go)

When we were driving through the Peak District we used to see a couple of vans marked "mobile dog wash".

I alwaays had a vision of the dogs going through the van like cars through a car wash.

Very excited joiner has just been around to measure for all the windows he is replacing and should be fitting them in 3-4 weeks time!

What with the loft insulation too all this should be done before I usually start using the heating so I'm hoping we shall be warmer this winter and using less gas.

Whether we will ever get back the outlay for the windows/insulation in reduced bills I doubt but I feel happier spending the money on the local joiner and british made insulation than I do the greedy energy companies.

  • Really annoyed at myself:( - was looking through some pics and spied a huge fleecy throw that I used to have over my old sofa (got it cheap and it was an "odd" colour so put it away somewhere safe).

Thought I'd dig it out and give it a wash and it'd do as a spare for the winter ..... and I can't find it anywhere:mad:

Thanks to my hoarding ways, I will still have it (as I rarely throw anything away, and certainly not something like that) but I honestly have tried everywhere I can think of.

The only place left is the loft as still stuff in bags up there since I moved in :o- but I can't get up there! Grrrrrrrr

Oh dear, I'm going to have to get some more now and find somewhere where hubby won't see them before he says I'm as nutty as my mum is again! sorry mum:) Think there's some space left behind the sofa, only 1 pack from last time left now. Thanks IOIWE

I've run out of things to wash and dry now, so have now got some stuff from my son and his GF, he couldn't believe it when I asked if I could do any washing for them. He's given me 3 sets of bed linen to do, then can I start on the wall throws. Can't waste all this nice hot sunny drying weather.
  • Someone said to me yesterday that a couple of conkers in a room will keep the multilegged creatures away. Has anyone tried this before I wander up the road to pick some?

We've got a massive conker tree and we tried it last year with loads of conkers dotted around the house. Didn't work though.
