Right - not only decided to do the loose covers due to dog smell - yes I now I keep on harping on about it - BUT I have mad the decision do wash the dogs too - into the Easycare Cool wash they go with a bit of canine conditioner and a quick towel dry before final style with blowdryer. This in the grounds that it probably is them thats generating to long term whiff anyway. They're small so can do in kitchen sink without too much damage to either party.
Once thats done I simply have to takle a bit of garden. Not only dod big sis' s garden put me to hame yesterday but she gave me a dozen strawberry plants - so they have to have a home- busy day ahead.
Hope everyone has the energy and happiness they deserve on a fabulous golden day like today. xdebt free 2021 at current DMP rate[/COLOR] (probably be in an old peoples home by then)0 -

Overcast today, but still not cold. Very muggy if anything. I walked DD2 to school today as DH has the car, popped in to vote on the way back, and now I'm going to have a big pot of tea
Just wondering if anyone else is plagued by daddy longlegs this year? I don't remember them being so prolific in previous years.0 -

that reminds me of a magazine ad i once saw... it was a basket full of the wool they were selling with two small children peeking out, all smiles
then it had washing instructions for the wool and a little disclaimer
'please wash children seperately' :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Winter marches onwards and the gales we had yesterday have moved on and we are back to grey and damp
So back into the garden and the painting of the fence - its taking weeks so far as I can only do so much a day between the rain and the pain (of my joints) .DH is cleaning the gutters and downpipes and making sure all secured tight.
The back patio has been replaced ( after the damage caused by the salt ) and the new cobbles for the front drive delivered ready to be laid.
Garage, shed and greenhouse all sorted out and made water tight where needed
Veggie garden nearly cleared ( just carrots and parsnips still in the ground) and dug over
Coal bunkers moved a tad closer to the house and coalman starts delivering again from next week
Wood shed tidied enough to get in and out of without killing oneself
Oil tank filled and boiler serviced
Need more kindlers and fire lighters
Slowly getting there0 -
Re:Ironing
Years ago I decided I didn't like ironing so only ever bought non-iron clothing ect; I haven't ironed anything for years so no wasted electricity or my time! I am always amazed at people who iron! (sorry if you do)0 -

I don't iron if I can help itI used to iron hankies, but now I've got a basket in the bathroom where all the clean hankies go crumpled up. To avoid ironing I usually finish off clothes in the TD for 10 minutes or so. Luckily school uniforms usually don't need ironing at all.
Bedding defnitely doesn't need ironing. I've never seen the point of it at all.
I've got an aunt who irons everything - even dusters apparently!0 -
House / Other
[STRIKE]Get salt / grit for steps[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Buy cover for outside furniture[/STRIKE]
Get boiler serviced
Have rads replaced in bedroom and bathroom (Quote requested) - Been messed about by stupid plumber, came to take measurements, said he'd give us a quote, then nothing. Have a friend who's a plumber so will hopefully have more success
Fix gutter at front of house Having trouble getting this done. Don't have a ladder long enough, and if we could borrow one, we don't have a suitable car to transport it
Buy draught excluders
Possible curtain for front door
[STRIKE]Buy blind for bathroom[/STRIKE]
Finish painting windows ([STRIKE]2 down[/STRIKE], 3 to go!)

[STRIKE]Buy hot water bottle[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Add extra insulation to loft[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Buy Yaktrax[/STRIKE]
Car
Buy 4 new tyres (very cheap and nasty ones when I bought car = very slippery in rain!)
[STRIKE]Buy glow plugs[/STRIKE] and change - bit of a nightmare, managed to change 1 of 3 successfully, but broke the other 2, need to order more
Horses
Send rugs to be washed - going to save money and wash these by hand
Buy 2 x round bales of hay (Ordered) - not been delivered yet
Get outdoor coat zip fixed
Buy welly liners
Buy soft hay replacer feed for old girl and fat pony
Buy veteran feed for other two girls0 -
Wel done Suki1964 very proud of your winter achievements so far and grn.w.nv you will get down that list, I got the last of one of my boys horse rugs back from the menders on Saturday so they are all now bagged up clean and done ready to go. I have also said that this year their light fleeces which they have on in the evenings if it gets chilly will go on and then I will put their heavy rugs on top. The idea being that when I am changing them from their indoor to outdoor rugs (and back again) they still have the fleece underneath keeping them warm while I am doing the changeover!
Tugrin, I have washed the dogs bedding today and one of their towels, they are out on the line drying wonderfully.
The carpets were cleaned last night and dry by this morning when we got up :j I have done out bedroom carpet this morning and that is drying - I have all the windows open and it is bringing a nice breeze through the house.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:
