I'm so tight with money sometimes that I'd hate to spend £10 on one thing! I sometimes have more fun trying to buy as many things as I can for a certain amount of money... Is that weird?
No, 'tis frugal ways. But occasionally we ought to treat ourselves as well as we would treat a good freind.
Maybe you can buy some needs with it and have the treat of the heating up a little higher on the coldest days and not feel bad about it?0 -
I didn't just check out mysupermarket to see what I could get for £10...Five UHT milks, three tins of beans, three tins of kidney beans, three tinned tomatoes, 1 tin of marrowfat peas (these are my treat!), five tins of potatoes, 3 tins of veg soup, two jars of chicken paste, 5 tins of rice pudding, 1 Tesco Value equivalent to strawberry angel delight, one pack of choc digestives (treat for my OH), a pack of two jumbo kitchen rolls and a litre of bath foam (will be decanted into handwash dispenser)
Came to exactly £10.00 so I'm pretty pleased with myself... Oh and I'm hoping none of these particular prices go up in the next week or so while I wait for my voucher.Savings £8,865.22 £/15,000 Aiming to save enough for a house deposit.0 -

I have been following this thread, trying to keep up with it! My winter preparations are coming along quite nicely; my two DDs have winter coats, hats, scarves and gloves sorted out for the cold mornings standing at the school bus stop; I have a large storecupboard set up in the garage with lots of tinned/dry goods in there, well packaged in plastic containers to protect the things like flour and sugar; 11 x 9 pack of loo roll from Approved Foods stashed in there too! The DH swept the chimney yesterday, and got himself covered in soot in the process!! We have loads and loads of wood stacked up in the workshop, nice and dry, to keep the woodburner busy all winter. And this morning, 10 of those IKEA fleeces arrived for me to line lots of curtains. I also got a couple of rugs for the kitchen floor, and got it all delivered as my nearest IKEA is too far! Even with the delivery charge, the fleeces were still cheaper than any I could find locally. I still have other things to do on my list, but I am working my way down it steadily - hoping you lot don't recommend too many other things to buy - I succumbed to the Craghopper trousers and the muckboots in the last couple of weeks!!December GC: £3500

Well, it was a job and a half for some reason:o but the thermal linings are now up beind my eyelet curtains. For anyone needing rings for curtain poles B & M's have some in with clips on and they were only 99p for 10.0

I've just survived working nights for the last 3 nights and so now, of course, I can't sleep/am not tired!! Anyways, thank you to whoever kindly said about the deal on loo roll at L*dls at the start of the week..I think I may have gone a bit overboard now, cause apparently 120 ish loo rolls have magically appeared in my box room (polishes halo, looks all innocent *hehehe*) and I have no idea how they got there! *Honesy Guv*! Not swallowing the sweet and innocent lark? Strange that, neither did my OH! lol..Never mind, now I know we probably won't need to get any more before march (I hope)

My Oh is curious as to why we have loo rolls stashed away in various parts of the house :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0
